I really wish she kept her stylist from American Idol. It HAD to be a different person then now, because her outfits were so amazing + for her age, and not tacky and ugly not to mention made her body look good.

It is the same stylist, and glam squad actually. I think the difference could be a bigger budget and/or people sending her stuff to wear on the live shows? Not sure. Who she chooses to wear has not been that different since idol though.
Think about how many Alaia outfits she wore on Idol, for example.

Even when she wasnt wearing full couture Alaia, she was wearing accessories by him.
She still wears Alaia a lot (think Paris this year).
I think the major difference is really her weight.
