Ok so after watching the rest of the performances. I stumbled upon this one.
I remember her saying before the video came out that it was either gonna be a great career move or it will end her career or something among those lines. She was kinda right
It didn't completely end her career but it did ruin a beautiful era. I personally hate Birthday. I have never forced myself to like a Katy song as much as I forced myself to enjoy this one when I found it was a single. It's a decent pop song but it was the definition of safe and I wasn't even mad it flopped. Picking it over Legendary Lovers & Walking On Air? Choose Your Battles? Why release something so bland after the epicness that was DH? With such a generic song she should of at least had a sexy video for it. I wish she would have shot the rumored 'Misery' inspired video where she kidnapped the guy and made it like his birthday everyday with different sexy costumes every day.

It legitimately is though. Her vocals and harmonies are so perfect. The entire song is just beautiful. When she speaks in French. Just so carefree. It's not trying to be more than it is.
