Charts positions don't mean anything in UK because of the way their charts are set up. It's just a ranking of 'who released a new song this week'. It's basically similar to US's albums chart. A #1 album can go #1 one week and sell 200K total, and the next week go #1 and sell 2M total. That's how it is in UK.

The real hits in UK show based off overall chart runs, and placements on year-end charts.

One week a song may go #1 and be #15 next week, while the #2 song that week could be #3 next week.

2004 and it's no white #1's was actually a great year for #1's.

I think only 1 artist that was white went #1 in 2002, 2003, and 2004 not including American Idol winners (Eminem w/ Lose Yourself).

Radio #1's was even worse though. I think from 2002-2008 only 3 white people went #1 on Radio.
