Yeah, you kinda are late on this one. You'll have to wait until the 11th for beta to re-open; it's currently down as Athens is fixing a few things, adding ATRL+ features among other things.

Honestly, that's one reason why I rarely visited it. Other than discovering the lack of the "go to first unread post" function.

You can certainly tag someone by typing @Wicked (for i.e.) and it'll notify you (if you're tagged or quoted), yes. It's already one of the common features available on the new software.
