I won't say that interview was promotion specifically, because it wasn't. However, it was an intention to get people talking about the album. Which clearly didn't go as planned, or at least not the extent they wanted.
As for Adam, who cares if you feel it was a cheap stunt? Don't make excuses for him blowing her sales out the water when he's brand new. The point is he did one performance/promotional effort prior to the release and his album is selling more. Not my fault Rihanna lacks talent, especially in the performance era. Surely if she did something besides stand in one place, try to sing live, and bring out the predictable fire/props to make it "entertaining", it could've generated more interest.

it didnt blow her sales it just boosted his own sales getting more people to buy his album. get it? and lol singing will not always be pulling a stunt. thats why its called singing. Rihanna had her cahnce with all those dancey stunts and this time she is taking another step

Oh, and "Russian Roulette" might be her 12th Top 10, but it possess no longevity. It is somewhat a flop. Taylor Swift has 20 top twenty hits, does that make them all hits? The single is already declining rapidly in airplay, and it's digital sales will end poorly.

That's the point. They both only did one performance prior, and Adam is the one who got the boost. Rihanna didn't. Maybe not "blew out" but it's a possibility of being 70k+ more than her first week. I find it hypocritical you say Adam pulled a stunt, but Rihanna/her label using her abuse as a tactic is also a stunt. "Russian Roulette", the interview, the video clearly displaying some type of connection. More so than Adam giving a controversial performance.

its a slow first single. and it is not a best choice for a single but still it is on the charts everywhere. it may not be on the charts that long but based on how a slow single charted it is already a hit. and she barely promoted the single. she only sang it a few times.

If that's what you'd like to believe. It wasn't slow. It hit and fell, not a big hit either. More like a tap and decline.

Excuse me,
I'm not taking anybody's side, just looking at your point of views, cuz that's all, there's no right and no wrong, just different point of views, however, Rico's words lose a bit of credibility to me because even if this isn't your intention, they come out as evil and dark-hearted, like just trying to trash.
Anyways, whatever happens next, this isn't the of Rihanna, that's a given.

Um, excuse me? I noticed that since the album's underperforming chart positions have been released, her stans here have been making new excuses. I just battled the fact that Adam also only did one performance before his album, but he's selling more. Against Rihanna who obviously holds a larger torch to Adam as far as career. I love the Rated R album, but I won't sugarcoat for her stans here.
So what exactly am I trashing? Just trying to either get a valid reason why they feel Rihanna is losing with the same circumstances.

Hey, if you want to say I'm trashing to cover up your excuses, that's fine. Just as long as you accept that you're wrong.

Oh, and I meant to say END of Rihanna on my last post.
Well guys, for example, look:
- RR is Rihanna's 12th top ten hit.
- RR fell like a rock after it's debut week, radio never embraced and people lost all kinda interest on it.
Both arguments are right, haha, just different point of views, you can see it from wherever you decide to, and nobody is gonna be wrong about it. However IF you're gonna go the negative way, wich is vaild, first, zero attitudes and then let's try to start from the good and then point the bad, other way it's like you are up against the wall ignoring the good things and only focusing on the bad, and it's just not cool, you wouldn't like anyone to trash your favorite artist ( case of stans), or if they do is because they can, and if this is the case and they will then say the bad but consider what's possibly good about it, like:
- RR is Rihanna's 12th top ten hit, nice, however, it fell really fast (please notice the difference) and wasn't a big at any format on radio, so people lost interest.
See? Saying the same, sounds different
If not, if feels like you're insulting or downgrading anything, and seriously, none of us have the power to do it.

So because I don't throw in the obvious, I'm being "evil". That's a nice interpretation. I'm not here to sooth people's feelings. Take the heat or shut up. The truth's the truth. You said. Radio didn't embrace it, and it did fall like a rock. 12th Top Hit? Okay. That won't do anything overall, as BB counts length of stay in official points.
I said I love the album, made Top of 2009. If that doesn't do it for you then stop worrying about me.

Radio is so tasteless for letting "Russian Roulette" die like that.

If you throw a million of bad things away and then two good ones, they won't get noticed, less if you throw 'em all at the same time.
Hey, I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong or anybody's doing anything wrong, but that way, we could have a more interesting discussion and avoid this wars between members that most of the time end on personal attacks or attacking other artists or whatever (not pointing anyone out), that make ATRL sometimes look like a cheap, no class forum.

Is this sarcasm? Kelis's album "Tasty" got better reviews, and no one is calling it a classic.

ATRL is a cheap, no class forum.
And there's no fighting going on here. The discussion could be interesting if the other end provided valid reasons. But I didn't get anything, so...it ends. Rihanna and Adam were on the same boat in terms of promotion, he's selling more. "RR" is a floppy single. Hopefully the follow up singles will aid the album in the overall. The end.

Ok. True.
'Whatya Want From Me' is looking foward to be at least a decent hit, so I can see Lambert 's being stable on the charts in the next couple months I hate him thou, however, this isn't this thread's topic.
