I don't know, I used "Damaged" for the first round last season (the challenge was The Perfect Lead Single) and even though it was the best choice from the album I still received an overwhelming amount of negative votes - so I'm guessing not many people like the song I appreciate the feedback from everyone though, this challenge was definitely really hard. But I'd rather send in something risky that I'm 100% proud of instead of sending something very mediocre and float through to the next round - that's just me

It's less the song and more the number of better choices you had. I mean, irresistible doesn't necessarily mean the best song, but the most relatable and easy to digest. That's definitely not "When You Touch Me" at first listen.

The judges votes are weighted more and can be the difference between life and death for you in this game if you weren't so favorable to the public. This goes both ways and I have seen it happen to multiple people in multiple rounds where the judges and public are totally opposite in their votes. If mandatory voting were not in this game, hardly any public votes are cast since "hey, it's not required and that's too many songs to listen to." Well guess what? This is a competition and it requires interacting with your competitors in one or another. In this case it's showing your song to the others while giving everyone else's song a listen and chance. A little effort is not going to kill you.
So please, stop the drama. This game is like the SOLE reason I decided to join ATRL and the Games section. I LOVED seeing everyone's creativity just perusing through the previous seasons and getting a chance to check out other artists. It's a GAME. Get your panties out that knotted mess and just accept that people don't like your song. Who knows, maybe us judges really like it and can save your ass from elimination.

I'm fine with people voting off my entry, but at least let me know what I can work on. I don't want anyone being like MLD and thinking I overdid the 7 line rule, because that wouldn't be accurate.
I believe I had mentioned this last season. Some people have really stupid reasons for voting off. I'm not naming anyone in particular, but I think it should be focused on the essay and the song choice itself, nothing else. If you have personal issues with the user or their artist or song, put them aside. This competition is intended to be fun and it's not when people are starting drama like this, so I do agree that there should be LEGITIMATE reasoning behind voting something off.
