So why is it suddenly a problem now?

I posted a link but it wasn't working... So I'll just quote it below;
[QUOTE]Every time there is a shooting or something, anti gun people online and in the media waste no time pushing gun control, parading on the dead and injured for their agendas. Now that a school stabbing has just happened with 20 injuries, people online are using it to call out gun owners “hurr see guns kill people, not people hurr no deaths with a knife” while conveniently forgetting a couple things.
1. That a subway stabbing in China injured 143 people killing 33.
2. Below
300+ million people
105,000+ schools
87 events
four years
89 deaths in schools in the course of 4 years across 100,000+ schools in 87 separate incidences in a country of over 300,000,000 people.
It is so goddamn rare but yet you have everyone willing to bring up guns any chance they get over a school shooting, and now anything really I guess, knifes you name it. Guns guns guns. You have people ready to pounce on guns yet no one talks about obesity or tobacco or alcohol or cars anything else in existence that kills over 20 students a year, like bullying and suicide. Or “30,000” people from gun “deaths” 20k of which is suicide. The rest being a mix of civilian on criminal defense(not including the 50,000 to 1.5mil estimated defensive gun uses a year simply from flashing your gun), police on criminal shootings, criminals killing each other leaving accidents and actual murder. How many things kill more people in America than guns? Take you pick, the list is long. Dont feel bad though if you cant name much though, the news and people who bring up guns are too busy caring about people to mention what is actually more likely to kill them. Guns are clearly more important here.
The following is your chances of being killed by a knife vs a gun in a “mass shooting” vs being killed by a cop
http://pastebin.com/ZGKtmB2t
tl;dr
You are 75% more likely to get stabbed to death than killed in a random public mass shooting.
You are THIRTY-TWO times more likes to be killed by LAW ENFORCEMENT than by a random mass shooter.
0.00000396% chance of being killed by mass shooting. Or 1 / 25,253,000 chance of being a random mass shooting death
Chance of dying by a gun in general? 0.0095%
Chance of dying by a gun not including suicide that is often used to pad the numbers against gun owners? 0.0032%
What about other things?
UNINTENTIONAL FALL DEATHS
Number of deaths: 26,009
Deaths per 100,000 population: 8.4
MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC DEATHS
Number of deaths: 33,687
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.9
UNINTENTIONAL POISONING DEATHS
Number of deaths: 33,041
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.7
ALL POISONING DEATHS
Number of deaths: 42,917
Deaths per 100,000 population: 13.9
ALL DRUG POISONING DEATHS
Deaths per 100,000 population: 12.4 (2010)
ALL FIREARM DEATHS
Number of deaths: 31,672
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.3
Guns?
10.3 for deaths total in general (remember how suicide was the bulk here)
Broken down
3.6 for homicide 6.3 for suicide
0.30 for unintentional
0.10 undetermined
You are more likely to ****ing trip and die than be killed by a gun.
Sources are FBI and CDC, just google for once.[/QOUTE]
