Not y'all hating on John Green like that. I adore Looking for Alaska and TFIOS! Amazing books. I love Will Grayson (well, I blame Levithan) and Paper Towns quite fairly too.
But I do get the hate tho. Aside from being vastly overrated, he tends to be formulaic. There's going to be a roadtrip, there's going to be a disappointment, there's always going to be enumerations of unnecessary stuff.
Oh I recommend They Cage The Animals At Night by Jennings Michael Burch. It thought it was a good read. Very sad but definitely one of those books that I couldn't put down.

I just finished Eleanor and Park and I give it a 2/5. The romance was too fast, her problem was not handled correctly in the end (imo), the historical background of the time period was not right and the racist descriptions of Park's mother and himself (Eleanor had a fetish for the fact that he was Asian) as well as the father as some kind of war hero to all of Korea was just gross. Other than that, it was fantastic with the music mentions!
Now, I am moving on to: More Than This by Patrick Hess.

this book was actually on my list of books to read but now maybe i will have to put it at the bottom of that list
I'm starting Gone Girl in a bit. (I think it's the first time I'll be reading a book of this genre, so yeah, I am not sure if I am ready for the creeps tho)

I love reading the Quran too it brings out the religious side of me and i like that praise allah bitches
