Who is Denis O'Hare playing in AHS: Freak Show?

Murphy also wouldn’t appreciate O’Hare doling out spoilers for the upcoming American Horror Story: Freak Show, but the actor was willing to oblige just a bit: While he spent last season gazing at Jessica Lange oh-so-lovingly, next season will find the pair at odds. “I’m going to be working at cross-purposes with her. We’re going to be like this,” he said, crossing his fingers. “We’ll have lots of scenes with each other, but we’ll be battling.” O’Hare said that the new character will be featured in all thirteen episodes (unlike the oft-missing Spaulding), and while he wouldn’t give away spoilers, he also let loose this one little tidbit about his character’s place in the season: Instead of playing a freak himself, the character will be “a collector of freaks.” A man after Ryan Murphy’s own heart.

I just watched all three seasons again and they were so much better second time around, especially MH and Coven (which I enjoyed more the second time). Asylum still ***** tho

People may tear Coven apart but it really does create its own world in the short 13 Episodes it got. From the setting, the distinct characters and even the overall feel of the episodes. Yes it may have lacked the Horror and overall plot that the other two seasons had going for it, but you can't say Coven didn't create its own distinct universe.

It's easily the most creative season.

It'll all depend on if her show The Visitors gets picked up to Series, although I've heard rumors its being turned into a TV Movie instead. But she also has a few movies in pre-production, so she may just be taking a season off.

Here's what we know about the fourth season of American Horror Story: It's going to be called American Horror Story: Freak Show; it's set in Florida in the 1950s; Denis O'Hare says he and Jessica Lange's characters will be at "cross purposes"; and Michael Chiklis will be playing Kathy Bates's ex-husband. Oh, and just about everyone from the previous season will be back. Vulture caught up with Angela Bassett last night at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Gala to learn a little more about what we can expect for her character when AHS returns.

"I'm not the bearded lady," Bassett tells us. "You know it's 'freak show,' so your mind begins to work. I had an opportunity to see [Ryan Murphy] — and I knew it was going to be fabulous and the writers are amazing, but you know a woman's curiosity. I said, 'Ryan, am I the bearded lady?'" Murphy told her she was not, though he promised something "'even more special.'"

Not conjoined-twins special, though; that's not Bassett's role, either, she says. "I don't know what other freaks there are. After the bearded lady and the conjoined twins, what else is there?" she says. "We're all freaks."
