Travy baby i read every last word of it. i know what you are going through mildly. i didnt graduate from high school on time for the same reasons. although i didnt cut every day.... i would miss half the day like twice a week, or a full day once a week every week during the whole time i was in Brooklyn Tech. (for those of u who dont know... brooklyn tech is one of the go0d high schools in the city like in the top 5) yea..... and i never went to my math classes or science classes and had to do summer school the whole time i was in high school.
And unfortunatly though it is somewhat your fault for NOT GOING.... dont be too hard on yourself..... you arent alone in this situation.
the facts have came in:

There is obviously a larger problem in the city's education system that you are caught up in.....
ima be real with u && christian can vouch for me and tell his own story of a miracle graduation. when the time came for me to graduate..... i was short like 4 credits and had to do a saturday math class (which i STILL didnt go to and obviously failed) and some independant gym class (that i guess you could kinda say was a bootleg night school class.) and STILL didnt graduate on time. i had to do summer school for that math class and in august i recieved my diploma and started college the very next week.
What i was wasting my time doing when i would cut? either i was in another classroom where the teacher was cool and let u cut.......or i would leave school completely or just not go and chill with my b/f, smokin, drinking && having lil couple parties at ppls houses who had open crib. same ting u prolly do same ting i still do.... only i go to class now cuz im paying for college lol. all this stuff turned into weekend/nightime activities. what wrong wit us city kids? who knows? anywayz enough bout me.....
Travis you know dam well that you have a chance to remain in HS and graduate. u have till u r 21 years old. if you go to school periods 1-10, do 3 night classes, and 3 summer classes. you will graduate in no time. but honestly..... how committed are you gunna be to that? Im not demeanining you in anyway im just being honest. i know that would be a hell no for me..... i couldnt even do a extra saturday class to get my ass to graduate on time.
Or theres is the option of GED. its really not as bad as it seems honestly travis... look at the statistics i gave you.... less than 50% of people graduate on time.....how many have thier GED? if are planning on livin in NY for the rest of your life.... GED is a go0d option for you because thier are many many many other people around you dat havnt graduated from HS either. you wont look bad because u have one. its if you leave the city that you will have a problem....
PLUS You can get a GED and go to college you know. You will def be accepted into a CUNY or SUNY with a GED no problem. and if you plan on moving on with your life after a few years at a cuny or suny and going to a better colledge HS wont matter at all. all they will need to see is you college record. HS is a load of crap travis....once u get out of it u will realize it.... i have friends with jobs and cars thier own apt and in college that have thier GEDs. They are better off than i am....
Its really on what's best for you, how focused u can get, how responcible u are ready to become, and what you are ready for personally. AND no1 can make this decision but u.
