It will... she has 100% control of this album, she's not being controlled to release radio-friendly pop hits anymore.

Her last 3 shelved albums were shelved because her label wanted her to be the next big thing, a hit maker, but that's not the direction she wants to take, she wants her music to be hers.

I know, it's really hard to be her fan. The thing is she has never postponed any album, they just got shelved (most likely becuase of label issues).

Sky has yet to POST ONLINE a release date for this album, she has said so many times in the past months that the albums is going to be released in AUGUST but nothing is carved in stone until she posts a release date online or the album goes up for pre-order.

After many rumours about the album title, this pretty much confirms that the title is "I Will". Weeks ago Sky uploaded a Facebook status claiming that her album is titled "I Will" but she quickly deleted it.

Interviewer: ‘You’re Not The One’ is pencilled in to be your next single. It’s a bit of a rocker...

Sky: Yeah. So the production is super-inspired by Low by David Bowie. I wanted to make a super-poppy version. Like not where you’re rolling up your car windows because you don’t want anyone to know you’re listening to it. Like trying to hide it in your iTunes.

Ariel had the idea. People say it sounds like Siouxsie Sioux. I guess the song was originally about a relationship when you’re not chasing after them. You know they’re kind of ****ed up. It’s like a game of cat and mouse. They’re interested but not interested enough and it’s not fair. That’s basically what it should be called, ‘It’s Not Fair’.

Sky Ferreira spills more details about her upcoming debut album and music videos


Sky Ferreira was interviewed by Georgie Okell from Noisey and she did talk a bit more about her upcoming debut album.

I mean it’s all over the place. But I guess it’s ten up-tempo songs, all still pretty electronic, although for some reason it comes across more pop-rocky live. I’m still trying to make it sound more like the record when we play it, which hopefully will get done because I have some shows coming up pretty soon. I’ve actually just been finishing the artwork for the album, it’s simple, but intense. There’s not much to it. but there is a lot to it. Does that make sense? Probably not. You just have to see it.

Yeah I have full creative control over everything actually. That’s very important to me. I just don’t have control of the budget, annoyingly. I said to my label, “I want to make a video for every song on this album, that’s my goal.” They said I could make two big budget videos, but I was like, “No, we’re going to need a video for every single track.” So that’s what we’re doing I think.

Actually I tried my best to avoid listening to music while we were making it so I didn’t sound like someone else. That happens when I listen to something constantly: you think you’ve made something really good, but actually you just start to sound like what you’re listening to. So I tried my best to avoid music where I could and just experiment with different sounds and ideas. Like taking four different sounds from different genres and just throwing them together. Sometimes it would really come together; sometimes it would be a disaster.

I really like fashion, but I couldn’t live without music and film, those creative areas are very important to me.

I’m filming a music video in the next few weeks, then I have shows in London—some surprise performance situations which I can’t talk about—then I’m doing Pitchfork Festival in July. Oh and I’m turning 21, so there’s that. I want to throw some big Kim Kardashian-style party. Like hire out a huge club and have all the girls from Jersey Shore there.

Calm Down! In another interview (it's in another post I made in this very own page) she said:
"There will be “three or four” stripped down ballads like ‘Sad Dream’, coupled with “seven or eight” uptempo cuts with a Blondie-ish vibe."

She just maybe changed those 7-8 uptempo tracks to 10 uptempo tracks, so there might be another 3-4 tracks, which will be the stripped down ballads.

So, we're talking about around 14 tracks.

Remember, she has A LOT OF MATERIAL and this album is HERS, she has 100% of creative control, she knows we have waited for almost 5 years for this debut album and I know she somehow will release/leak all her past material.
