Er, more people in real life talked about Madonna's performance... because it was the super bowl and reached so many more people.

Most of my friends don't know what the Billboard Awards are and don't know that Beyoncé performed there last year. Heck, I'm sure most people don't think Beyoncé put an album out last year.

I said earlier in the thread TWICE that Beyonce is a superior vocalist than Madonna. Doesn't mean Madonna can't sing. I posted videos showcasing her LIVE vocals.

I also told another poster that even Madonna herself knows she's NOT a strong vocalist. The woman even said in her Truth or Dare documentary that she knows she's not one of the best vocalists but she does like to push people's buttons but it's done in a way to get people thinking and with a political aspect.

They have different performing styles, being "raw" or "artsy" is neither a negative or a positive thing. Gaga and Bowie incorporate art heavily in their performances as well, I don't think they should be discounted as performers for that reason.

I agree that being artsy shouldn't be seen as a negative, but it shouldn't be used as a crutch or substitute for raw abilities either
