SL benefits from recentism (for lack of a better word) however the 'Mrs. Jackson if you're nasty' quote was just as big as SL's hand movement is now and it's not as if Janet didn't have iconic videos and iconic songs to her credit. R Nation was another HUGE song of her's that was just as big as SL was same for AFY. The only reason why people are trying to shade Janet now is because she hasn't had a successful song/album in nearly a decade. But you can't say she wasn't just as big as Beyonce is now when the fact remains Janet as a solo artist is much bigger then Beyonce as a solo artist.
