The only songs that have a RIGHT to be in the top 10 are the 10 songs selling the most digitally. How is their release different than other singles? That's like saying album songs that haven't been released as singles shouldn't be able to chart.
It's so impressive. She has not even started promoting yet, she's climbing based off the strength of the song alone because its AI is still quite low. In a week or two I think it will definitely be in the top ten, this is going to be an interesting year for Adele in the US.
I can't wait for her to start promoting in the US. Radio isn't supporting her, and it has yet to be seen if they eventually will. Things are looking good for her, the general public is showing interest in both her single and her album.
Anyway, do you guys realize that is it weren't for the SuperBowl and Glee, Colbie Caillat would be #1 right now! Because everything in the top ten is currently Glee or The Black Eyed Peas EXCEPT for "Firework" and "I Do," and "Firework" would be below "I Do" because there wouldn't have been the SuperBowl/Glee promo for it. Damn, Colbie!
A song being in the top 10 on us itunes, by virtue, aids in the song's sales. This is detrimental to songs that are actually selling on their own merit but are not having the exposure in the top 10 that it needs to help maximize sales.

iTunes Chart is about songs popularity; whether it's a cover, or an actual song. Currently, the Glee tracks are the most downloaded songs and I don't see a reason why they shouldn't chart.

I don't own any of her songs, but I see the appeal of her other stuff. Bubbly, Realize, Fallin' for You, & I Never Told You are cute (although they can be snoozers once overplayed )

Bubbly was very overplayed in the US, I couldn't stand it for a while either. I can enjoy it now. I don't dislike her I just don't see anything worth my time in her. The song you're thinking of is called Lucky & I agree it's her best song I don't think her last album did too well, & this seems flamebait-worthy but I find this true: I think Taylor Swift stole a lot of attention away from Colbie. I find them similar, although I prefer Taylor.
