Yeah, I do think her trying to crossover quickly has affected her a bit. And the era currently is "throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks". What Tinashe wants and what RCA wants seem to be in two different directions.

The only reason I can see RCA demanding a hit before the album comes out is for them to make up the money they've invested in this album. Waiting to see if there's buzz or for the album to be a big album seller is unlikely because neither is going to happen. The decent buzz for this died months ago (only the fans are anticipating it now) and I don't think it would have done well anyway.

She needs a mixtape. Right now. Interest in her is at an all time low right now, imo, and that needs to change.

An #87 peak for a brand new song that was promoted on TV, included in playlists and received coverage online is a red flag. I'm not saying it's the be all end all cause sales don't really matter anymore, especially for r&b acts, but the first week sales of Company will obviously be in the 4 digits and, no matter how you interpret it, that can't be good.

Booking a GMA performance for someone who brings them no money? I mean let's be realistic. When I think about it that's why her promo is so weird. They've paid for videos and promo slots with no return for a year now. I think late-night shows are now out of the question and morning shows were never an option

It seems silly for them to do all of this back-and-forth when they should focus on the song first and foremost. Get her a great SONG and then go from there.

The other thing that worries me is how this has affected the album. Whenever artists announce album info years in advance, with a ton of music released between the announcement and actual album, things turn into a complete mess. A prime example of that would be VIEWS. Announced in 2013 and released in 2016. By the time it came out the original 2014 leaks/info we got were irrelevant and he had different goals. Part of me is like, why are we still in the Joyride era? Why was the era even announced so early? Because the songs she's released since then + performed in concert are enough to be a full album. It almost feels like they should start over at this point, no one really know the difference anyway. They even have an excuse to do so after the "Joyride" leak.

Taking a break, releasing a mixtape/collabs, re-setting, and trying again in Q1/Q2 would be annoying but probably yield more success for her. If they release the album anytime soon it will bomb completely (like, 10k SPS) and she'll get dropped. Then again idk if she wants to stay with them or not.

How she went from the brilliant stuff on Aquarius and her mixtapes to these average songs is beyond me.

2 On is great. Feels Like Vegas is a pop song. AHOD has structure and a hook. None of these are comparable to Company.

Nobody said Wonderland was HUGE promo. But it was some promo. And it's not irrelevant promo either. The MTV audience is literally her target audience.

Superlove had NO hype. Only the die-hards were here for it, same as Company. The difference is that between then and now the die-hards decreased. As for SuperGOD being weaker, I'll let that be cause it's subjective.
