Don't worry about sounding harsh. They're your thread policies!

It's just, I'm so scared people will be super bias with stuff. I mean, lets be real, the Beyonce scores that are 90+ are pretty bias, which in turn made me be bias too. Same with that 1/100 and 7/100 with Nicki . We should have to listen to the album right before a final judgement.

Yup, strict format.
I think we should allow extreme opinions if they're justified well. I'd honestly give Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded somewhere in the 10-20s, and I could write you paragraphs explaining why. Someone could just as easily do the same to give it a 97. I think you should have people send them to you and reveal them all at once, with names credited. You can even list them in descending order so people can see the "layout" of who liked it and who didn't. Bold people who are frequent participants/notable critics, etc.

I dunno, reviewers can be bias too and there will be high and low scores for a lot of albums, I think that's what makes the whole thing interesting.

I wasn't being biased at all. It's possible for someone to think that an album deserves an A. How do you know you're not just biased against that album?
A score that is too high or too low in your opinion shouldn't be considered evidence of trolling. Read through the user's posts and their review to see if they are taking this seriously.

But at the end of the day, we still don't know how much is the final score of PF:RR... I will stay with the 55.

But..but...I mean...all the bey stans giving it like 95 and 93
I guess it's fine, I just want people to listen to the album before rating. Which I didn't do with Bey's album, so I'm contradicting myself

I'm not a Bey stan at all, I'll have you know.
And if anybody wants, I can go into specific detail of why I find albums/songs good or bad. If you think my summary is unsatisfactory, tell me.
I think Giacobbe can just tell people if he doesn't think the review is up to snuff, it's his thread after all.

OP updated, I want this to remain a fun thread that anyone can get into, but I want it to still maintain a sense of professionalism about it too

Why should people's opinion and score affect your one? Just give the score you honestly believe the respective album deserves. I don't even read any of the reviews before making my comment.

Thats actually a really good idea! Would we have it set on the OP some "notable" critics?

I was trying to equal it out to an 80-85, which is what happened, my plan worked

Anything less than a 20 is undeserving for an artist that has put their hard work into an album...theres no way around that...these people are still human...however, review are all about taste, if a poster doesnt enjoy a specific genre their opinion should still be given weight. If a poster comes in and posts an extremely negative review and they are known to troll that artist's thread then it shouldn't be given weight.
I think guidelines should be given like this:
A reviewer should have listened to the album cohesively, track-by-track and rate the album in different areas...Cohesiveness, Production, Lyrical Content, Vocals, Catchiness & Replay Value...thats what really matters...

I like how you updated the OP and I don't want to be a dick but................
- Put a comma between "count" and "it"
- After it says "they should contain the following", change that to say:
"1. A score of 0-100
2. Your top three
3. Specific comments about certain songs to show that you listened to the whole album
4. 5-10 sentence explanation"

That's how I score the songs in my Blog reviews SORTA. I score each song on vocals, lyrics and production. I average those 3 for that one song's score. I average the scores of all the songs for the album score.
SCCOOORRRREEEEE.

Or, what if, a stan comes in randomly and gives a super high review and leaves right after. That shouldn't count either. But I like what you're saying

You're doing Born This Way now? Can I submit? I was just listening to it and it doesn't sound as bad as it sounded before, I'll be good
