When Britney came to Jive they were trying to come up with the perfect sound for her so she would be big. During the time Bubblegum pop was big and they were looking for that blonde pop star with the cute voice. And Britney's real voice was deep and bluesy and sort of like Toni Braxton. And Jive knew that her voice wouldn't sale so they came up with a vocal technique for her that she had to adapt to which wasn't a very good technique because it made her voice terribly weak and nasally. Which is why her voice is the way it is today. If she didn't stick to that technique and sang correctly and got vocal training. She would have been a much better vocalist. And I never said her label forced her into not singing, she choose not to sing because it was hard for her to sing and dance at the same time. When your trying to sing in a fake voice and do difficult choreography it's impossible to sound good. Beyonce & Gaga, sing in there natural voice and sometimes dance at the same time and don't have a problem at all.
I agree with everything except I'm a little bit more optimistic and I truy think her gorgeous voice is still there.
Each time something bad is written about her everyone believes it but when countless producers (most of them didn't even make it on the final tracklist of her albums) praise her vocals and professionnalism, somehow it's automatically untrue.
I know the Britney brand gave you every reasons to doubt her talents but try to see beyond all of that and think for yourself for once even if it's not polically correct to admit she's anything but talentless.

Of course, it's also a matter of taste but objectively, the vocal potential and the notes she could reached are nothing to laugh at.
Britney will start winning Grammy's when her producers start making Grammy Award-worthy music. She's plateaued since Blackout, and even that album wasn't any diamond in the rough. What you guys need to understand is that the Grammy Awards isn't the MTV Awards. It's a serious event that has a reputation of credibility for it's award choices. Britney has never been an artist. Like a recent article said, she's more of a pallet, and while she may do her job satisfactory enough, it's just not taken into consideration as anything outstanding.
Shade looks more tired than those bags under Britney eyes. Some acts need sex appeal because it is all they have, while others can be ugly and still do it like how certain sex kittens did back when people actually bought music.

I agree with you, her real voice will always be there. It just wont be as strong as it once was. It's quiet disappointing though because she was highly capable of reaching high notes most of these pop artist these days are unable to do. All she needed to do is stick to her original voice and get a vocal coach to expand her range. Look at Rihanna, she was awful in the beginning and look at her voice now.
This has to be her most vocally impressive as a kid.
I don't see how people can say that her music is not worthy of an award. Britney has some of the best produced pop music in the pop scene now and it's been that way for a while. No one can really touch her when it comes to amazingly produced pop music.
I actually agree with this. Christina may have the better voice... but in terms of success that year... she was alway second to Britney.
I don't know how they justified giving Christina that Grammy.
Christina's got a better everything, and she was 1st to Brit in 00 when she won the Grammy even when she got the nom with only 1 song out, the iconic classic Genie In A Bottle:
Let's educate the ignorant and post two of Britney's most emotional songs shall we?
Someday (I Will Understand) - Written and Composed by Britney
Everytime - Co-written and Composed (she created the rift for the song on her piano) by Britney
Now the ignorant can drop the whole talentless arguement. When will their faves create something this emotional and catchy at the same time by themselves?
But sis...Let's not forget Britney has written two unreleased tracks that no one has ever heard of over the course of her 12 year career alongside a bunch of other writers and can play Fur Elise on the piano. Can we say true talent?
lmaoooooo i will defend Britney and say that her natural tone is dark and more of a soubrette contralto, when she 1st started out with Jive she kept her natural tone but as she progressed u can notice that her voice became more baby like, more sexy and kitty like. Now she sings out of her range so it makes her sound like a baby. Maybe that is because her label wanted her to be a sex kitten and sound like 1, but she can sing if she wanted to. It's under there somewhere
like in this song , very christina-esque
she could of won a grammy for this song, if it was on the album/was submitted
Did she lie? Even the stans know that, that's why we always clammer for more creative input from our girl, because she used to have so much control over that before.
Well Jive, Britney, and her Mother explained why. I wouldn't post something I have no proof of. Plus there's videos that are actual proof of what Britney was really capable of. She was no Xtina or anything like that, but she had a solid voice.
This is her real voice.
She sings silent night again in her Jive voice.
That's a big difference if you asked me.
What this is, is the product of vocal lessons and voice preservation, she would have been coached to have a pop friendly voice. I don't think it means they weren't letting her sing in her own voice, this is the voice that made her famous, she was never going to be a Christina so they turned her into an emotive force early on and then her voice turned to a sexy purr. it was to set her apart. This is excellent proof that Ms Spears can actually sing, I think she is trying to oversing a bit but she is on key, in tune and has a lovely tone.
Because her music is artificial. You dont get a sense that she has talent when listening to her music, and it tends to be over-produced and her voice too animated.

THIS is how you present a dissenting opinion without being warned.
