I love this thread
Abortion - Should be allowed but nothing past a certain trimester or under certain circumstance (hurts the mom, etc.)
Gay Marriage - Should be allowed, yet question if this will lead to a nuptial between 3 or more people....
Gun Control - Seriously needed and maintained. I do think the ideas of safety should still be worked on/innovated on this matter.

The whole 'theyd find other ways to kill' thing is stupid, the USA, for it's population size, has the highest gun crime and murder than any other western country. Whether or not theyd find another way guns are the easiest and if they were not readily available crime would go down.

This is such a hard topic for me
I think it should be permitted but definitely regulated.

The reason I believe there are so many illegal immigrants because the legal immigration process is so complicated and confusing....most people don't have time for that. It also requires thousands of dollars. I believe that the US should make immigrating easier, yet still watch and monitor who enters the countries. I don't necessarily support illegal immigration but why there are so many illegal immigrants is understandable. Immigrants are taking more jobs that normal American's won't take because they have start over and from the bottom on up. This is very interesting topic that will lead to a large discussion.

phew this topic is too complicated. Let's see if there are illegal inmigrants is because countries frontiers are not open to the whole world and somehow more closed to people from "dangerous" countries. One part of me thinks that frontiers from all over the world should be open.
But i've seen some serious cases of immigration, and how this affects the economy of a specific country,
It's all a matter of how the inmigration affects the country and its inhabitants

I think they should be deported.
They're using up the limited resources our country already has.

I missed a lot of topics: :S
Gay Marriage: I agree with civil marriage but not christian or catholic, should be only between a woman and a man.
Gun Control: kinda hard, at least here there is so much insecurity, people needs psychological check before obtaining a gun, but I agree to an extent.
Illegal Immigration: I'm sorry but I don't agree with this, illegals should be deported but it's so complicated, they don't have work or nothing to hold their families i'm not sure about this topic =S...

It's different in Europe. Anyone in the EU can work and live in any other EU country, it's fine for most but then everyone wants to live in the very well off countries like France, Spain, Greece, Italy and most of all the UK. While it is legal it now means that it is pretty much impossible for students to get a job to help put them through college. Why would an employer hire an intelligent student who can only work certain hours when they can hire an always available happy to be paid horribly polish person?
I hate to be the type to say 'oh they are coming over here and taking our jobs' but it is kind of true, not to mention half of them don't speak English at all. But I do understand that they simply want a better life and it's not fair to judge them for that, I have a lot and they tend to come from very little. None the less it annoys me, I should be able to get a job but thanks to them...I can't.
I intend to emigrate to the USA as soon as possible but I will be doing it totally legally, becoming a citizen and I intend to be well educated and pull my weight. Illegal immigrants don't pay taxes and that isn't really on, if they want the benefits they have to put in like we all do. If the country say's you cannot enter or cannot stay they normally have a good reason.

95% of the jobs illegal immigrants take are jobs most Americans do not want anyway. They really have only a small impact on the lack of jobs in this country. It goes FAR beyond illegal immigration.
Also, I missed gun control. That is quite an interesting topic as well. I know guns are outlawed in the Cayman Islands and their felony crime rate is zero. ZERO. Even the police don't carry a gun. Of course, I'm not stupid and I know that won't work in America. Simply take a state that has strong gun control laws like New York and implement their gun laws for the entire country. Even as a New Yorker myself, all I have to do is drive a couple hours into a state with lesser gun laws, show my ID, and I can pretty much get any sort of firearm I want. That is why we need 1 law for the whole country to follow.

The thing is most immigrants don't do it this way because of the process. And the limited amount of money they may possess.

Well I'm not one of those, I've worked hard for my education and there are obviously laws for a reasons, if they really wanted to be a citizen and for the right reasons they would take the time to do it right.
If they aren't going to be let in the country it is normally for good reasons. They can Marry someone if they are in love, they can get a visa if they have a good education and can support themselves or if they come from money in the first place.
While it may not always seem fair, it is the law and it isn't going to change any time soon, you can't choose where you come from but you have to make the most of it, no matter how difficult. The fact is that if you are not born in the USA and do not have relatives there you have no right to be there and you can be deported.

I think that they should really monitor the borders we have now, and then for all the illegals living in America now, let's legalize them instead of deporting them to harsh conditions. They can stay here, but they need to pay taxes and go through the same legal processes as everyone else if you want the rights and the life of an American

But where do you draw the line? People will arrive illegally everyday, they will always find a way. Where there's a will there's a way, it will never be 100% preventable. And if they did that there would a surge of immigrants trying to get into the country before the 'deadline'.

While it will never be completely fixed, I'm sure there are ways of reducing the immigration of illegals by a lot. And you are right about the deadline part, but if America starts regulating its borders and then start legalizing illegal immigrants, it would prevent more immigrants from trying to squeeze in before it's too late

America does regulate it's borders, a hell of a lot. And airport security there is totally ridiculous, I get searched just because I go there a lot, they are convinced I'm going to stay one time. It is one of the scariest immigration points in the world, particularly when you are 16 and on your own.
America, no offence, is probably the most paranoid Country in the world at the moment, it really really does regulate it's borders. It can't exactly put up a 10ft electric fence around the whole country, unless you want a billion taken out of your taxes.

That type of security only occurred after the 9/11 attacks. Since that time, security has been uptight about who they let in, why, and how long he or she is going to stay. While I do believe it has gone a bit too far at times, it may be needed.
I remember one time I was going to China for a family vacation and I was going to board the plane there. I was with my 2 year old brother at the time, and my parents already went through the gates. I was cleared, but my little brother had to be stopped because his name was on the "Terror Watch List." Like a little 2 year old has a bomb in his diaper After like an hour of waiting, we were finally permitted to ride.

American culture is (and always has been) extremely xenophobic. The government makes it extremely difficult for "undesirable" immigrants: poor, non-white or from a developing country. Of course there's going to be a lot of illegal immigration -- those people still want to come to the US! What I think we really need to focus on is reforming our immigration policy. As for the illegal immigrants that are already here though, I don't think we can completely ignore them. It may seem unfair to be spending money and resources on people who aren't even citizens, but by not doing so, we're just helping to perpetuate a lot of the poverty and crime in our country.
