After a fifth and then sixth season that disappointed critics and viewers alike with their mediocre storylines seemingly ending the show's 'glory days', a veteran Showtime drama's seventh season surprised us all with what felt like a creative resurgence, pumping new life back into the ongoing arcs by focusing much more deeply on the relationship between siblings and finally paying off threads that never should have taken this long to pay off. Despite all the hallmarks of a comeback season, the finale ends things in a thematically odd place that leaves the chances of Season 8 being good or bad roughly 50/50.
I was fine with this episode being the "series finale". It's a good ending. Now I have a feeling next season is going to ruin it. Showtime doesn't know when to end a show
The season (especially the second half) was really strong. I liked seeing different plot lines for each character.
Having Fiona be without a boyfriend for the season was refreshing. I'm hoping she didn't get swindled like I'm assuming she did.
Emmy's acting was flawless this episode especially. She deserves so much more recognition than she gets. I'm so excited for next season already
I thought this season was really good except for the Svetlana stuff coming out of nowhere and then her just disappearing after the bar thing. I don't even care if she's gone, it was just handled poorly.
How many episodes until Frank finds out about what Fiona did with the meth and goes to unbury Monica though?
That season ending was absolutely superb. I'm loving seeing all the siblings in good situations, it gives me hope that they can make something of themselves. Obviously the drama keeps us all watching, but I love the good stuff too. I can't wait for next season!

I feel like the Svetlana situation will be a big focus of next season
I'm sure the finale was probably written a while ago, but it feels like they did it (or at least this version of it) so that it could be a proper series finale ending if season 8 doesn't happen due to the contracts/salary thing.
There was no cliffhanger or anything, this should've been the episode before the finale tbh. It's still good though
What an EXCELLENT episode. Emmy Rossum delivered her finest acting this season with her scene with Frank in the front yard. I'll never understand how she always gets overlooked at award shows when her acting is impeccable in this show. And that scene with them fighting over the meth is one of the best in the show's history.
I would have never guessed that
Monica's death
would be the glue that binds the Gallaghers together.
Great finally for one of the best seasons in the show. They worked very well to make it look like a series finale. I can't wait for season 8!!!
My bets: Fiona will be played by thy guy and have A LOT of trouble with that building. Debbie will have to decide between Neil and Hottie. Ian will comeback being a ****. Lip will try to make a family with that girl I can't remember the name. Carl will get expelled from Military School after doing something stupid. And Liam will finally get a storyline now that he'll be at the same age as Carl when the show first started.
AMAZING FINALE it really did seem like series finale and I would've accepted it if that was the case
Emmy delivered another Emmy worthy performance, legends only
excited to see what season 8 will bring, I hope it'll be good!

Wait the meth is buried with Monica's body? I missed that
