If HDD says they were talking about Ariana the whole time, I know they're saying that to save face Because I feel like we already knew an Ariana album/new music was coming this week before HDD even said anything lol. I mean this is definitely not a surprise or a sneak attack considering considering the album was kind of informally announced/revealed anyway.
The Ariana EP isn't even a surprise release. She's been teasing it for days. She just had to rush announce and release it so that it'd be out before Christmas (after making the whole thing in a week).
Besides, HDD seems to RT artist announcements all the time. Doesn't necessarily mean it's related to their surprise release story.
