So excited for the "surprise collaborations", but I don't want to many of them... I just want 2 or 3 but they have to be amazing. No Will this time! I would love a collaboration with Fergie
Yes, Usher would be great. Guys/girls, do you really want a collaboration with Rihanna?
|
I agree only a few collaborations, and I definitely want a Rihanna/Cheryl song.

I also think she needs to go WW but it seems like that's what they're planning for, especially now with the success of One Direction and The Wanted.

They are definitely planning on making Cheryl a global star, remember Will.I.Am saying this,
Quote:
He says there is a “10-year plan” to make her a global superstar.
And you definitely wouldn’t want to get between Will and his scheme to make her massive.
“Cheryl’s the best,” he says. “I was just hanging out with her on Tuesday, listening to her new stuff and getting her feedback on things and she has some really great tunes.
“The Cheryl that we know now is different from the one we’re going to know 10 years from now.
“It was 10 years ago that me and the Black Eyes Peas wrote Where is The Love?. I’m planning a future for Cheryl in that way.
“Madonna is Madonna. You don’t want Cheryl to be Madonna, you want Cheryl to be Cheryl.”
|
I love how he says 'Madonna is Madonna. You don't want Cheryl to be Madonna, you want Cheryl to be Cheryl' that to me shows the level of success Will.I.Am wants for Cheryl and I think he is going to work hard to make that happen.
Also come March 16th we will definitely have a new Cheryl track as that is when Will.i.am's album is out, I cant wait.
Also when do you predict we will hear the first single? Going by her tweet a few days back they are going to record the video before we even get to hear the track, which is quite strange, normally the song is sent out to radio and then they record the video.

Now that you mention 1D and The Wanted, I laughed back then because I thought it was ridiculous The Wanted were there... anyway, there was a MTV US video about the next big thing in the US and there were 3 British acts mentioned. Do you remember who was the other one also mentioned apart from One Direction and The Wanted? Yes, Cheryl Cole.
Please, everything is pointing at the right direction, I'm going to cut a bitch if she doesn't try it

Do you think if Cheryl releases an album in the states, it will include some of her old material or all brand new stuff?
And out of all her old material what songs do you think would work in America?
I think we can all agree Fight For This Love would do well, but I was surprised when I read somewhere that Promise This was obviously being aimed at the American market, as I would never in a million years thought Promise This would work in America, what do you think?

Oh, I can definitely see Promise This being an epic hit over here. Indeed, I actually think it could set a new trend for mainstream pop music. It has that catchy hook and the live performances are just showstopping. I would love to see her bring it over here.

The Bottom Line
Cheryl Cole is kicking off her second album Messy Little Raindrops with driving, upbeat dance pop. An electronic, nearly robotic "Alouette" chorus will catch your attention instantly. "Promise This" is likely another big hit in the UK for the Girls Aloud member. There are no specific plans yet for a US release, but "Promise This" would fit well on US pop radio.Pros
•Catchy "alouette" chorus
•Tinkling piano runs
•Uptempo rush
Cons
•Faceless vocals
Description
•Written by Priscilla Renea, Wayne Wilkins, and Christopher Jackson
•Produced by Wayne Wilkins
•Released October 2010 by Fascination
Guide Review - Cheryl Cole - "Promise This"
Listen to this one time through and you are likely to have the word "alouette" running through your head for some time to come. It is instantly catchy, and, coupled with that tinkling piano line, "Promise This" can pull the listener into uptempo pop bliss. There is a certain facelessness to Cheryl Cole's vocals, but building a song around her projected public personality results in a very pleasing creation. "Promise This" was produced by Wayne Wilkins who put together Cheryl Cole's #1 debut single "Fight For This Love."
Pop fans are likely to linger and puzzle over the meaning of "alouette" in "Promise This." It means "lark" as in the bird and matches the children's rhyme about plucking the birds of a wing. This matches the song's lyrics, "Before I pluck your wings cover me please spread your wings cover me." Cheryl Cole seems very concerned in the song's context that she will "ground" her lover by plucking his wings and seeks reassurance that he will remain forever committed.
With X Factor's live performance season well under way, it seems a foregone conclusion that this latest release from arguably the most popular judge will be another major hit. The primary question remains if and when Cheryl Cole will be promoted as an artist across the Atlantic in the US. Will her stardom translate or will she be another Kylie Minogue?
A review from back when PT was released. It came from top40.about.com....
i'm forever sad these 4 epic songs will probably never be released here.
Fight for this love
3 Words
Parachute
Promise this

I dont know why, I just never thought it would work in the US. And that is a great review.
Also I think there is every chance those songs will be released in the US, remember Cheryl is starting out a complete unknown, so they may use them as promotional tracks.
And there is rumours circulating that Cheryl is currently in LA and is going to be shooting her video, although I haven't seen anything but that is according to someone on popjustice.
And the Rihanna/Cheryl rumours have had a resurgence for some reason.

Cheryl just tweeted these, which I am assuming are lyrics.
Quote:
You know it turns me on when the beat starts dirty dancing.. The way it calls to me I can almost feel its rage.. La da da da da Dum Dum..
|
Quote:
Bass in my face, put the bass in my face, put the bass in my face, put the bass in my face..

Sounds great.

Those lyrics make me think the song is going to be a banger! I'm ready to get my jam on to Cheryl again!

Me too and it sounds like this era is about sexy Cheryl, I dont think we have ever heard her sing about being turned on before.
Hopefully she will go back to brunette though, as blonde Cheryl is cute rather than sexy.

Right. 1D didn't even lift a finger in the US and look where they're at now!
And yessss, Promise This & a few other 3 Words/MLR tracks should come along w/ the new album. Boy Like You, Make Me Cry & Amnesia, preferably. Those are my jams.

YASS @ the lyrics. The mystery is.. When are they planning on announcing the album? Or when are they announcing officially she's coming to the US?
I hate being wondering..but imma die the day is announced
1D, the wanted, Cher Loyd and Rebecca Ferguson are all coming to the US soon... Maybe even Tulisa will do it before Cheryl... but im confident the bitch will bring it and judging by those lyrics it seems lke we should expect something FIERCE.

I just don't understand the secrecy, I don't get why it is necessary or what harm it will do telling us when we can expect something. Someone, somewhere suggested it was being kept all under wraps, so that one day Cheryl can just post her video and she will just explode back onto the scene, which will be exciting but the wait is killing me. lol

Been a stan since of GA since Something kinda Ooh!. Wasn't a Cheryl fan at first in fact I didn't like her song FFTL at first, I guess I was bitter GA was breaking up. Realized my mistake on January 2010 and became a die hard stan overnight. I'm one of the biggest Cheryl stans ever since. Im almost ashamed of what I said when I first heard FFTL. I checked its video thread and i branded it weak...
Ironically is my all time fave...

Hi, my name is Jakob, I'm from Poland and I just registrated here just for this thread which I found on google.
I become a fan in early 2010 when I saw FFTL in tv for the first time and instantly felt in love with her. Here in Poland Girls Aloud weren't so well known, however I was aware of their existance since like 2004 (when I noticed "Jump") as well as Cheryl herself and I really liked few their songs, especially "Call the Shots" and "The Promise". However, which really made me a fan was Cheryl's solo stuff. Her singles were amazing and she was beautiful. Not so long later with joy I discivered also how great personality has this girl. She is funny, she is feisty, she is natural, she is lovely and charming, she's smiling a lot, she's kind and easy-going. And what is the most important - she's making amazing music!
She is the only one artist whose I've ever been a fan of. And my favourite song of her is 3 words
