That's why making the change seem so big doesn't make sense to me. The Billboard 200 will now just be about what position you're in, not how much you've sold. And the articles will be such a mess mentioning so and so is #2, but land #18 on the sales chart with so and soK in sales.
This could backfire on services like Spotify. Will labels really want to spend more money on streaming incentives when they're not making much back from it? Since, if the new BB200 will be the standard go-to for album success, they'll want the #1 debut or what not.
In the end, it isn't a fix to the decline the way they're putting it out to be.
