The more I listen to this song the more I realize how terrible it is yet the more I want to listen to it.

I hate the word, but this is just so...basic. It's anonymous and inoffensive, like if Katy Perry tried to be Cher Lloyd trying to be M.I.A. It has none of Lily's typical cheery brashness, unless you count those two dumb dead celeb namedrops in the second verse, and the central metaphor is so tired and uninspired.

I enjoy the synths that show up in the pre-chorus and the "na na na"s are neat too but so out of place.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm about to listen to this about twenty more times.

The dumb monkey / zoo line is literally awful but I still love it because it's Lily
I really like the song, though, I don't think it's "dead" or "uninspired" at all, I just think Lily's in a different place now.
Her last studio album was literally 5 years ago, her life is so, so different now. She's a mom, for one...

I like all the layers and think Lily created a surprisingly addictive and sugary Pop jam.
And the thing about this song is that you can tell the entire album won't sound like it. Same with HoH, though

The song is about being happy and not caring. Yet...this thread.

The song will go Top 5 at least in the UK. It may not stay at No. 1 due to other big releases that month such as Pixie Lott - Nasty and Paloma Faith - Can't Rely On You.

I think it's fine for Lily to make a song like this. She has proven that she still has her bitchyness. And if you want more wait till the Girls soundtrack in February where she has another song which is true to form. It's an experiment, it could smash or flop.

hahaha this is totally me.

She said she's gonna do a bubblegum pop album because she's in a happy place right now. But I hoped for something like Chinese - a total cheesy song but Lily's uniquness makes it totally awesome and not cheesy at all. I can't think about any other artist who could sing Chinese but I can think tons of other who could sing Air Ballon and that's the problem for me.

Keep in mind she's only released singles so far, which from Lily are always generally a little tacky and cheesy, but
also really catchy and enjoyable. HoH caught the public eye, Air Balloon will catch their ears. I disagree that "anyone" could pull off Air Balloon, it still is uniquely Lily IMO, some of those lyrics would NOT transfer well to other artists.

She assuredly has a few Him, 22 and Chinese-esque bops to serve us. Patience, y'all! Let the F**k You and Alfie's come first.

Yeah. Lily is doing loads of features and non-album tracks this year. She has a song with Louis Elliot out the same day called "Shelter You". Im so hyped for the new Lily era.

I think it will come September. Air Balloon will be relevent until May. Then she should send a hype single out then finally in like July another single should be sent to radio for release a week before the album release.

There are like no Lily stans so, you have to do all the research yourself.
