I want to be sad, but I can't be! You've shown interest in playing this game for quite a while and I was excited to see you participate! Your "Me" Trinity proved to be very interesting to say the least, and I was excited to see what you could bring to the game... but you bailed, sis! Ah well, hope to see you around anyways.
Well, everyone else - stay tuned! I'll post highlights / averages momentarily, next round to follow eventually
A T R L ' s H O L Y T R I N I T Y Highlights: Round Two
Doogle
Anastacia ▲ Paid My Dues Sleigh Bells ▲ Comeback Kid AlunaGeorge ▲ Lost & Found
Leader of the pack this round is Doogle, with a trinity that's surely not shy of sass-packed anthems.
Consistent of three female-vocalist artists, each song provides a new powerhouse progression, and
a new reason to throw your hands up and stomp around. Strangely symbolic of Doogle himself as a player, perhaps,
this trinity is certain that it has very little to prove... and it's ready to take over!

Anastacia
Paid My Dues
It was inevitable for me to include a typical “sassy” song by a female vocalist, but I had to make sure I chose the right one. The more obvious pop options don’t do it for me when I hear a word like “anthem” but this song really hits the right places. The lyrics and the perfect delivery of each line make me feel like a king without bordering into cringeworthy and that to me is the perfect anthem.
Sleigh Bells
Comeback Kid
Some people just hear noise when they hear a Sleigh Bells song, but when I hear this song I hear a great message that motivates me. It’s a pretty simple song, but whenever I feel defeated, this is the song I play to pick myself up again and the lyrics especially speak to me. In fact, the instrumental alone is powerful enough to be considered a true anthem. It’s loud, strong and aggressive; the perfect ingredients.
AlunaGeorge
Lost & Found
AlunaGeorge are my everything and have been for a year now. I could easily have picked any of their songs and passed them off as anthems to me but I went with this because I love the way it oozes of attitude and I feel like it’s a perfect, cleverly written “**** you” anthem. It’s got a sense of humour to it that for me differentiates it from others of the type.
HotNCold
Nicki Minaj ▲ Young Forever Foxes ▲ Youth fun. f/Janelle Monae ▲ We Are Young
Back at the top this round is HotNCold, with a thematic reminder of how so many anthems come about: being young!
Taking the charmingly overused "forever young" and putting it into perspective, these three songs emulate the
young culture and the anthems that go along with it: not only does this trinity involve screaming along
and waving your hands, but a newer, low-key twist on the Foxes inclusion.

▲ Round 2: Anthem ▼ Youth
Adolescence. Every artist has dealt with this topic, but few have made it engaging enough to have the title of anthem.
I chose the topic of youthfulness to be the common thread in my trinity because youth is what an anthem is all about. It's in the moment, it's loud, it's fun, and most importantly, relatable.
Nicki Minaj - "Young Forever"
Young Forever is an album track of Nicki's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, but it's not deserving to just be that. To some, it may seem to be juat another throwaway Pop track, but this is the definition of a youth anthem. The lyrics are telling listeners to appreciate life while you have it, because we don't know when life will end. The chorus in this song is massive, with lyrics that are easy to sing along with and appreciate at the same time. Nicki struck anthem gold with this one.
Foxes - "Youth"
This is literally a youth anthem. The lyrics are so relatable, it's scary. If anyone has ever felt scared about growing up, this song is perfect. Foxes sings about talking about embracing the ambiguity of everything that comes along with being young, and appreciating it while she has it. The message speaks loud and clear to all audiences, which translates into a stellar anthem.
fun. - "We Are Young"
Everyone has heard this song. Everyone has sung along. That alone makes it anthem, but it's not just it's mass popularity that makes it an anthem. The melody in the song is uplifting, and empowers people to live in the moment. While I'm sure there are more clever ways of talking about this topic, fun manages to combine both relatable lyrics and a anthemic sound that will prove to last for ages.
CrazyCat
Whitney Houston ▲ I Look To You Christina Aguilera ▲ Beautiful Los Del Rio ▲ Macarena
Joining HotNCold, CrazyCat enjoys his second consecutive week in the Golden Trinity with this
deserving trinity. Beginning with a nod to Whitney Houston (you can go no wrong picking an anthem from her discography)
on to princess of anthems, Xtina, with an uplifting empowerment anthem of a generation... you would expect anything but
this trinity being topped off with, representing the cult classic anthems, Macarena! A perfect trifecta of anthems.

WHITNEY HOUSTON ♦ I LOOK TO YOU
A true anthem by our beloved Whitney Houston, it might not be the biggest hit from Whitney, but it's lyrics, and meaning truly makes it an anthem. It's such a powerful and deep song. This song gives strength, hope and faith. We all make mistakes in our lifes, and some of of us die with them. We all aren't perfect, but we were never meant to be perfect, God made us to do mistakes, and only him can forgive us for them. Only him can show us the way we have to go in our lifes.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA ♦ BEAUTIFUL
Another anthem is by Christina Aguilera. I'm not the biggest fan of Christina, but I will not lie this song is truly an anthem. Christina inspires us to believe in ourselves. This world is cruel, very cruel. A lot of people laugh at others appearances, they call people fat, ugly, disgusting, and other words, which I don't really wanna say. Everybody is beautiful, there isn't such thing as an ugly person, everybody is beautiful, and if people can't see that, they must be rotten inside. Some people don't realise how hard words can hit, they just struck like lightning, people are easily hurt. People who make fun of other should firstly look at themselves. I'm glad Christina made this song, she just gives people hope, and makes them feel better and stronger.
LOS DEL RIO ♦ MACARENA
14 weeks at number #1 on Billboard Hot 100. Macarena by Los Del Rio is a huge hit from 20th century. One of the most popular songs of all time. It's catchy, very silly, and simple song. You can easily sing along to this, it's just such a fun song. I think that this is an anthem, because big amount of people know this song, it's just such a big hit. Also music video is very fun. Everything about this song is just right, it has everything that catchy song needs, the catchy chorus, silly video, and fun instrumental. Everything about this song is just good!

If you're wondering how these end up working throughout the season, your averages are determined by how the judges ranked you and how close to the top you are overall. At the end of the game, the highestaverages have a small say in who winds up being in The Holy Trinity... but it's not the biggest deciding factor.
Gonna be hard to keep up now though, I'm scared I played my best hand far too early. Good thing I have an endless sea of songs in my Spotify collection as well as iTunes.
