It doesnt take any skill to sing electronic music, most of the time you dont even need to know how to sing. Pro-tools and a vocoder can fix that up really quick. Electronic is the least vocally-based genre which is why it sometimes isnt taken seriously.
It just is a matter of preference. Acoustic demands raw talent while electronic is more developed. Acoustic is great for ballads, and electronic is better for dance. Gaga knows this too which is why she does acoustic performances as well. You would think as a pianist she would prefer acoustic more, Im surprised she doesnt lol. I personally prefer acoustic a little more. A band and live instrumentation impresses me more than a beat and synthesizers do.

Very true. However, I will agree that it takes huge skill to produce electronic music. Even the pinnacle of generic (We R Who We R, Just Dance, Starships) took huge effort to produce and required work on many ends.
However, even though I don't think Gaga necessarily meant it, it does not take any effort to sing over electronic music. No matter how well you may sing, your voice will always be pitch corrected and tuned properly. Even Sia on her electronic songs, is compressed and vocoded. The only effort placed into electronic music is the production.
I do agree with your statement about live performances. It shows you something when people like Adele can get up on stage with just a band and a few background singers and get a minute long standing ovation. Since Gaga's music is more electronic and less "vocal" she has to rely on performance art, which is also good, but shows the crowd shock value over talent.
Good points!
