They don't have a certain image off stage, they just act like themselves. And have you seen the performances of "Lonely" "It Hurts" "Can't Nobody" etc.....that's not really badass. They just go with the message of the lyrics.
As for "their songs sound the same" part, I never got to understand that at all. Their last mini for example:
I Am The Best : It sounds like a hit from 20 years from now. The chorus, the production, everything sounds fresh. I can't even describe it with words properly.
UGLY: Pop/Rock anthem, kind of Kelly Clarkson inspired.
Lonely: A guitar driven ballad, a major grower, and their vocals sound absolutely amazing.
Hate You: Electro-pop, reminds me of Robyn's last album.
And none of the tracks had auto-tune, except for 'Don't Stop the Music" which is a bonus track, and it was already released as a digital single way before the album.
