Yeah, it matters. Essentially supporting the idea that her albums don't fare well compared to international. The point about RR is, you used "Rude Boy" as if it did major things for the album, when it did only so much. And, the album SOLD 1 million copies in November. It was at 999,000+ at the end of October.

You said Katy or Ke$ha could never do 2.5 in the US. But that's with a rerelease and in 2007/8 with eight singles and a wack of promo.

whether it went plat in sept or now, who cares cuz it's barely (if at all) selling.

Rude Boy did nothing for the album.

WW yes, because Only Girl/S&M are much more WW sounding, and she's an established artist. But in the US they'll most likely end out the same, unless either rereleases.

Her US could be better but i guess her WW make up for it a little.

TD is going to be at 950k+ by the end of 2010 and she's still got more singles to release + a tour + the Grammy nom which will help sell at least another half a million.

1.5 Million is my prediction for TD before a rerelease. It deserves massive sales. I'm hoping her big HAC airplay will eventually boost sales!

She's got holiday sales, Grammys, more singles, a tour AND you know they're going to keep promoting it like no other album. I'd even say she'll flirt with the 2M mark when all is said and done.

Where does everyone think Bruno Mars will max out? His album has been gaining for weeks. He may be more than a singles artist. Could he go platinum sometime in the future?

Considering Rihanna only got that far once out of five albums, and Katys first stalled at 1.3, then yes I do think it's quite impressive.

Though with the massive airplay both girls should (in theory) be able to do 3 million no problem. The US is so fickle

Katy debuted with 41k(?) and went on to sell 1.3 million. I guess it's possible Bruno Mars could at least sell 700-800k with an outside chance at more.

He'll go platinum. He's done a great job carving out a space for himself with a sound that's pretty unique from what's out there. Plus Grenade sounds like an album seller. And it's a great song.

I still find it so impressive how Katy and GaGa debuted so low and were able to do big numbers, especially GaGa, obviously
