Like I said before, I want 1D to take it just because I know they're gonna be more humble about it than Biebs. But I feel like Purpose is gonna be the much better album.
I'm a huge fan of both artists, and I am very excited with the new One Direction album as I have been very engaged with the three songs I've heard so far (Drag Me Down, Infinity, Perfect). Those songs are all outstanding!
However, I think both What Do You Mean and Sorry have been a very big step up from Justin Bieber and I think I have replayed these songs more than the 1D singles (except probably Perfect).
So I just really root for both to have amazing numbers because both artists really deserve it!
Bieber needs it more as he's trying to rebuild his career. Album sales are crucial to that he cant just have singles success. His singles are not even selling much more than a million so theyre not mega smashes.
One direction are clearly near the end of their natural boyband 5 year lifespan so for them to beat him at this stage would be pretty huge. They dont really have anything to lose at this point.
