So when Britney's "Work Bitch" video comes out, the U.S. government has decided to shut down so she can be the "guvanah?" Interesting

IMO the approval rating of elected officials should be key in replacing them. So, lets say if the approval rating of congress is 10%, then people need to lose their job. You're job is to represent the people and if they don't approve, then clearly something is wrong. I think once it gets below 25% they need to be considered to be on the chopping block, but if they can turn it around, then they can stay. It's ******** that we've been in the situation numerous times since... As long as I remember. It's had moments where it's bounced back, but I feel congress always has such a low approval rating. Something is wrong with that picture.

Cute fact: Half of the American population uses up 97% of healthcare funding.
People also feel like it'll actually put a damper on the quality and promptness of healthcare, when if they are really that concerned then they could just continue to buy private healthcare. I have Sickle Cell Anemia and I'm pretty sure the Affordable Care Act won't cover all of my treatments and medical expenses and it doesn't bother me one bit. That's why I'm keeping my private insurance as well; however, everyone isn't as privileged as me and are being denied a basic human right. I feel like it'll improve the overall quality of life and boost the economy. I know so many people who walk around, dealing with ailments because they can't afford treatment. It's sad.

It's true that turn over time will dramatically decrease with the implementation of free health care, you just have to look at our system, the waiting times are ridiculous in some cities but that shouldn't be a deterrent against free health care. I don't think there's a single Australian who would complain about Medicare and the tax involved (low income earners are exempt from the levy) As flawed as our system is in parts, everyone no matter who you are has access to free health care.
Theres no doubt it'll improve quality of life and boost the economy so I fail to see the argument against it. Everyone is better off because of it

Fricken ridiculous that the Republicans held the government hostage so they can try to defund Obamacare. Let it happen. It's here and it's here to stay. Focus on something that actually matters please.

Thing is. When people respond to polls on "congress" they show disapproval, but if instead you ask what they thing of THEIR OWN congressmen they actually like them.
Congresses approval rating is low because it is easy to blame "other peoples" representatives for the problems. After all..... you never voted for them.

However he is clearly the lesser of two evils. EVEN after the NSA scandal (which would have happened with or without him in office anyway) and EVEN after his confusing and contradictory foreign politics he still is. The alternative are right-wing conservatives.

Based on what?
It is easy to say something like that, but if you cannot present a lucid argument you just look foolish.

This isnt Obama's fault. He stepped into a **** pile the George W. Bush left him. If you want to blame anyone blame him and the Republicans.

I agree. He's the President. If you can't get Congress to agree... or even LISTEN to other people's thoughts and takes... then you fail as a leader.
Again on ObamaCare: It's not fair for someone who's healthy to pay the same as someone who's extremely sick (an example being cancer or HIV). It doesn't seem rational when there are all kinds of aide given to people with certain sicknesses. It really puts a huge burden on people who are healthy and it's not fair.
Like seriously, go on https://www.healthcare.gov/ and price something for yourself. My goodness, that's not affordable at ALL... people will go broke by the time they reach their deductible or have co-payments out the butt if they have pre-existing conditions...

People are being SO dramatic over this everywhere omg. Like I saw a girl say that no one is gonna be able to have FAFSA anymore but that it starts in jan. Girl if it starts in Jan why the hell would you think this shutdown would last that long anyways I told her FAFSA wasn't affected but she still believed her false hearsay

Thats exactly what regular insurance does though.
Facts are facts. Being sick is expensive, and you pay for insurance so that it will be there when it is YOU who is sick. Everyone gets sick eventually...... it is a delusion to try to pretend that this is somehow imposing on healthy people.
