I think more can be done to make Oh Santa more of a hit, BUT I don't think it could ever reach AIWFCIY status because it simply isn't as relatable. Anyone can sing AIWFCIY. Straight, gay, bi, men, women, children, grannies, etc. The lyrics work completely for anyone who ever wishes they had a special someone with them on Christmas.
Oh Santa is very specifically from a female point of view, and while you can see some 40-year-old white dad singing AIWFCIY, you will NOT see him singing, "Santa's gonna come and make him mine this Christmas!"
Then, the lyrics use dialect/idioms more, and that limits the audience too. While it's likely you can find a random housewife in Texas singing, "Oh, I won't ask for much this Christmas, I won't even wish for snow!" you probably won't find her singing, "But I believe in you Saint Nick, so grant this wish for me right quick!"
So while I love Oh Santa and agree that she needs to always perform it with AIWFC to boost those sales, I don't expect it to become some smash out of nowhere.
