The song needs to progress in some way though. Shattered Glass is just going nowhere, you are expecting something to happen, then you blink and the song is over
HIAM's breakdown and the last chorus is what did it for the song, Shattered Glass should have had the same, but it's pretty clear that her team was okay with keeping it as a filler to then try and re-make the song into something bigger and better, which they did with HIAM.
