I get it. I was 16 once (and far worse)
But dragging a relationship on because "it makes him happy" is stupid. He will be more unhappy when you break it off if you keep on leading him on.
Also, if you are going to a party with him and he is showing off his new bf, for you to only a few days later to dump him would be horrible for him. He will be asked about you all the time.
And, the shoe thing...you know the right thing.
