I'd like to make my own cover but I don't know what photoshop effect is used to get that broken image with the lines.

If you mean the image effect I don't know. But there's an MDNA logo with the lines.

that broken imagine/shadow effect is quite difficult i think..but you should ask paulsynder90 - he's a photographer and he knows about these things!

There isn't really an "effect". Mert & Marcus actually shot through some sort of glass divider when making those photos.
There are a couple things you could try but it's pretty advanced work....

I found a very similar effect. It's called vertical glasstile. I also just made my cover.
