Either pop radio is growing or more pop stations are being tracked; the number of stations tracked by Mediabase has increased in each of the last few years.

I know more radio stations owned by I-Heart are often forced to air syndicated shows instead of their own DJs, meaning more stations are playing more songs more often. That's another reason spin and impression numbers keep going up. Before 2013, a song getting to 150 million impressions on BBs HRS was still pretty impressive. In the last 2 years I'd say that figure has gone up by 10% to 165 million pretty much needed to lead HRS, and 190-195 for #1 on needed on AI.

This is a good point which I failed to mention.
I will say, however, that over the past year or so, as I have listened to iHeartMedia-owned stations I haven't noticed much in terms of programming changes. I think most of it occurred in the aftermath of the launch of iHeartRadio.
