I don't play Mariah or any music in front of my mom so she remembered that completely on her own. She's also jammed to Vision of Love, Hero, Dreamlover, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Honey, Heartbreaker, We Belong Together, Shake It Off, and even said she likes Say Somethin'.
You should've seen how hard she sang along and jammed when ODB Remix of Fantasy came on the radio two months ago dd.
I'm gonna need to play #1's to Infinity while we're in the car one day and see how many #1's she knows.  Oh and not to mention she LOVED #Beautiful when it was a hit and even watched her GMA special to see her perform it. She's been a fan of Mariah since she debuted when she was a teen, ha family appeal.  |
It's so great how Mariah's fanbase spans generations like this. I have similar stories of my mom singing along to her songs and/or asking me to play certain things. She has generic taste in that she adores Hero, We Belong Together and Emotions but also likes her gospel tracks like Fly Like A Bird and Vision of Love. My young siblings are now into Mariah because of me and my mom too. They aren't stans but they do like #Beautiful and Thirsty from MIAM.
