Just wanted to say that I'm not really a ballad kind of guy, but she sounds great, the song is good, and I'm very happy for her. I hope it smashes.

Between Perfume and Work Bitch, it feels like Britney is in a great place musically. Her sound still has that classic/iconic Britney core, just more mature and refined and that's what I love about her. Throughout the years, regardless of the haters and critics, she just keeps quietly perfecting her craft and doesn't talk a huge game about it. No crazy or pretentious proclamations about her artistry. No delusions of grandeur about having the album of a generation. Just Britney Jean. Doing what she's done for over 15 years. Always getting better with age, but never making a big deal about it.

That's exactly how I feel, excluding the not liking Kelly part though because she's amazing.

Best part of PERFUME? THE VERSES (Especially the entire 1st minute of the song)
Weakest part of PERFUME? The chorus! It's nothing standout that sticks in your head. It's like it tries to pick up the tempo to lure you in after the verses has you in a trance, but it falls flat.

Thankfully, majority of the song is lead by the verses so it overcompensates for the weak chorus.

At first I only loved at first listen the verses, the "I hope she smells my perfume" hooks, and the instrumental ..... and didn't feel that much the chorus, you know the "I wait for you to call, and I try to act natural, etc, etc part".

But after several listens it just gets better and now I love the chorus and everything about the song.

I'll pray and sleep on it and see if that changes in time with more listens. I'll play it in the car tomorrow to get an idea of how it'll sound on the radio.
