Biden running will eat up some of Hillary's votes. Won't affect Sanders because his base is solid. Biden and Hillary are parallels as establishment democrats, and although I think Clinton will win out in the end, it complicates the race in an undesirable way.
I want the democratic primaries to be efficient and simple.

I've said it yesterday (or two days ago) and I'll say it again while agreeing with you. Biden is running, he is running right now but campaigning against Hillary and slighting her every chance he gets. The 1.1 million miles comment, the republican enemies comment, Beau's dying words, it's all calculated.
Right now Hillary has over 50% of the established base backing her. Biden will obviously get a boost when he decides to run. However, to gain supporters it must mean Hillary has to lose supporters. It will eat a good chunk out of her established supporters and we will actually have a 3 way dogfight for the nomination, which Clinton still leading solidly but not monumentally. Biden and Clinton are eye to eye on all (well 90%) of major issues for the democrats and GP so for Biden to distance himself from her and to show that he should be the nominee he has to attack her personally. That means taking digs at her credibility and scandal filled political career, something he has already started. This will divide the democratic party like it did in the 2008 primaries. Hopefully, like in 2008, they build up together when the general election comes for whoever the nominee is whether it's Clinton, Biden, or Sanders (listed in order of who's most likely to be nominee to the least likely)

If Biden promises the DNC that he will pick Warren as his VP, it might be game over for Hillary.

I'm in school and can't watch the video. What does she say?
Warren isn't interested in the White House top positions at all. Not only would she not decline but I doubt Biden would pick her
