I just finished watching Cold Prey... It's actually a good film and I hope it gets an American remake tbh But yes those end effects were terrible...and at the song for the credits

as for The Haunting In Connecticut... isn't one terrible sequel enough

I will rate the horror movies that i watched in 2012:

V/H/S : 6/10 (Very good for a low budget. )

Cabin In The Woods: 7/10 (I can't say it was bad .But it wasn't scary at all since it didn't have the shock-factor.

Megan Is Missing : 2/10 ( I felt fooled at the end of the movie. )

House At The End Of The Street (or somethnig like that) : 8/10 (It was mind-blowing. )

I don't think people will tbh... although I haven't seen the original Evil Dead... nothing about the trailer of the remake made me think of The Cabin In The Woods... except for the fact there is a cabin featured in both

In The Evil Dead, some friends go to a cabin in the woods, only to find a 'secret' basement where the find the book that awakes the evil force.
In The Cabin in the Woods, some friends go to a, yes, you guessed it, cabin in the woods, only to find a 'secret' basement where they find things they use to 'awake' the 'evil force' which is in this case an organisation.

The whole point to Cabin in the Woods is to spoof on horror clichés and torally re-invent the genre. That is why it is, in it's premise very similar to the Evil Dead movie.

Although, they are two movies who actually could not be any more different from each other. In The Evil Dead it is all about black comedy and the evil nature and in The Cabin in The Woods it is all about how we view horror movies.

People say 'Oh, The cabin in the Woods was cool because it was different.' But that is not the only reason why real horror movie lovers love it. It deconstructed the whole genre as a whole. It is a spoof and turn on what horror movies became, which is all the same **** these days. And how we are entertained when people die. That is also what the Cabin in the Woods represents
It is a true masterpiece, just like The Evil Dead.

The original may of been a black comedy but the remake sure isn't... the remake seems to be making it into a serious film... and it's only a lesson if you learnt something... I didn't learn anything from your post as I knew it all already..

Yup, your perception of me is correct Although I don't use a lot of old horrors because I prefer watching more modern films.... plus pretty muchall the major horror films have or will have a remake made of them anyway.
