I loved Hotel. It had some dud episodes for sure and there were moments where I was scared it would end up being weak like Freakshow, but the last handful of episodes really pulled it all together and made it great.
There are a few that are interchangeable for me in the ranking, but Freakshow is in a category of its own as the worst season. The best episode is Orphans, and it was about a character/connection from a better season.
It was the only season without a central plotline, and no element of horror or fear came from the theme itself unlike every other season. The only scary villain was humanized and then killed off only a few episodes in, and the replacement (Dandy) was comedic and predictable.
I mean, in the Universal AHS attraction, they literally had to use Amazon Eve as a villain bc there wasn't anything else they had to use.
