Definitely. I don't know why some artists who are known for selling sex expect to be suddenly taken seriously, at some point. Katy Perry will never be taken seriously, and she just needs to accept it. You can't flash your chest in a skin tight Simpson's skirt, and wear pepperoni hoodies and expect musicians and the general public to take you seriously as a person or artist. Katy Perry wanting people to see her as a "real artist" could very well be her downfall. I can see her in the near future trying really hard to be so "deep" on the next album that it looks like a desperate joke by default. Katy Perry created her own box with how she marketed herself. The box works. It's made her very successful. If she wants to continue being successful, she better stay in that box.
...Vin
ew hopefully she was dumb enough to forget to poke holes in the box
Katy has Firework, The One That Got Away and Wide Awake so obviously she can't sell just sex. She just has to fix her image and get a decent stylist. No one cares about music critics though. She can easily buy reviewers.

Wow Vin you really nailed this, the way Madonna's coffin will be nailed shut to prevent her from rising again.
The horns in Shake It Off are so good, ugh. I'm chuckling at Max Martin giving Taylor this immaculate, eternally fresh pop opus while Katy got musical bile like This Is How We Do.
