I hope this is her 4 moment. The start of her really coming up with great, great music.

I think ARTPOP was a wake up call, much like 4 was for Beyonce. The realisation that she can "fail", and as a result making her question where she will go from there. They also both shook off negative and controlling influences around these respective albums, no?
From a Little Manager point of view, I hope the fire is ignited in her belly. Not out of greed, but out of hunger to prove herself. C2C's handling so far makes me think both she AND Bobby are ready to play the game - but on their terms.

Totally, I don't think Gaga is ever going to ditch pop music, I just think that she's not going to sacrifice what she feels is important to her for the sake of commercial success. Fans on here want her to always look pretty, always work with hit producers, and always have other people do stuff for her, and that to her is considered sacrificing. That is, unless she decides to do that on her own as opposed to being told to do it, which could totally happen as well.
I'm not sure how this will affect her sound, but I think it will affect how she moves forward with her overall career.

It'll be interesting to see if she takes a defiant, rise-to-the-challenge attitude and tries to regain her crown...or if she opts to give a middle finger to expectation and do what she wants regardless of how it'll turn out. It could go either way because, frankly, actions speak louder than words and you can tell she's bothered by the lack of success (or rather, bothered that it's overshadowing the music)...but she's also incredibly stubborn and proud.
What we (including her, perhaps) should remember is that she doesn't need to run to Dr. Luke & co OR lock herself in Marina's shed with a xylophone, to create the next album. She can work with incredible producers - both up and coming and old school - to deliver brilliant pop material and still satisfy her artistic integrity.
