Charli XCX Performs at U Street Music Hall

Charli XCX performed at yet another venue a few minutes ago while on a promotional tour for her brand new single 'Alone in the Dark'. While rehearsing for the perfrmance, she recorded a 1 minute long video of her rehearsing 'Alone in the Dark', under the title 'XCX Rehearsals' which was then posted on her Youtube page. The performance itself was livestreamed on Charli XCX's official website and can be re-watched anytime.
The fully packed venue started screaming Charli's name as time progressed. She came out on time though, and walked up to her microphone stand before starting her small speech: "Hey guys, before we start, I'd like to thank you for coming to see me tonight... It means a lot to me. I'd also like to thank my amazing band who follow me around and Ariel Rechtshaid who's been really supporting me while we work on this new album. Here's the first song of the night, it's my new single 'Alone in the Dark', now dance!"
She started screaming the lyrics with her amazing angel voice. She jumped around while singing the song. During the breakdown she started doing a few hair flips along to the beat. When 'Alone in the Dark' ended she decided to sing a song from True Romance, her debut album. "Here's one of my favorite tracks off 'True Romance'" and she started dancing along to the intro of the song as she usually does when she sings this song. This is a big fan favorite song so fans were dancing a lot along to it. The UK-only single 'Nuclear Season' was next up on the set list.
'Boom Clap' was the third song performed tonight and she stood simply in front of her microphone and started singing while doing moves with her hands, the crowd was singing along. The crowd also sang along during 'Fancy' because of the Charli XCX written chorus. As a gift to the crowd she decided to reveal a NEW track, she first told the crowd a speech about the song: "Guys.. you've been amazing tonight, I can't believe how energetic you are! I have a special surprise for you angels... It's a song I wrote sometime ago. I'm not sure if It's gonna be on the album, even though I'd love it to be. it's called "Tokyo Lights". I'm not gonna sing the full song just a small snippet but i hope you guys like it."
And then she started singing a 20-seconds long acapella of 'Tokyo Lights' which seems to be a a very SuperLove like pop track.
After the 'Tokyo Lights' performance, Charli decided to sing the top 10 hit she wrote and on which se was featured 'I Love It'. The small concert was amazing and many fans praised Charli's voice, dance moves and charisma.

I have a few questions:
1. Can you pay for promo spots
2. What's the article limit
3. If I want to get a full week of sales, when should I release my single

All of the promo are free, the article limit is 20 now so it means you can only write 20 articles for this whole week, and always release it after the chart positions are revealed which means that now is the suitable time to release a single

Charli XCX on The Late Show with David Letterman

Charli XCX made an appearance for an interview aswell as being the musical Guest on the Late Show with David Letterman. She arrived wearing a black leather top with a high waisted leather short shorts and with a red leather bra. The leather ensemble was worn with huge black Alexander McQueen Heels. She then sat down and started answering the questions.
Welcome Charli, you look Fabulous as usual!
Thanks David, you look fab too!
I get that a lot! *laughs* You don't just look fab only on my show anyways, you looked fab in the new 'The Blondes' photoshoot! You look good with Blond hair!
Thanks again!
Were the outfits hard to put on? *shows picture for the shoot on screen* they look painful to wear when you look at them on the pictures.
Well I had 3 people to help me with them, besides it's The Blondes! I really like their outfits. They are so original, I love those alien looks.
You also did a commercial for them which we need to air right now!
*The Blondes commercial featuring Charli XCX is shown on the screen while 'Alone in the Dark' plays in the background*
You're single 'Alone in the Dark' is featured in the commercial, what's the song about?
It's a song about how empty you feel right after a break up, You feel, or at least I do, like you're alone in some strange dark place in the middle of no where. The song also features themes about needing revenge and sadness.
Does it relate to you're own experiences about Break-ups?
Yeah, I write a lot about myself, sometimes more subtly and other times it's just clear that it's about me.
You're the One is featured on your next album, how does it feel to be walking away from the 'True Romance' era?
It's a little bit sad, I'm kind of being nostalgic even though it hasn't been like exactly 2 years since the era properly started with 'You're The One'! I do like to experiment new stuff though so it has a good part in it.
Do you know when the album will be released?
Maybe a month... I've done like 60% of the album so far. I can't wait.
You blew up into mainstream mostly thanks to Icona Pop's 'I Love It' & Iggy Azalea's 'Fancy', does it makes you feel inferior, that you need features to get bigger?
Not really cause I wrote those songs! I'm giving them the success *Laughs* but seriously not really, I just like writing music.
Taylor Swift also has a feature with you which is featured on her latest EP 'Coven 13', It's a great track, how do you feel about it?
Kind of proud, because she's Taylor Swift! I can't believe it to be honest. It feels surreal working with people like that.
Well that's all for now! Thank you for coming Charli!
No problem!
We'll be right back with Charli XCX, performing 5 songs!
After the commercial break. Charli was shown on stage wearing a different outfit. After David Letterman presented her as being the next superstar and mentioning her new single 'ALone in the Dark', she started singing 'SuperLove'. The performance was amazing yet remained cute and went well with the song's Pop sound. She then sang 'Nuclear seasons'. The performance was well appreciated by the crowd. Next she sang her True Romance single 'You (Ha Ha Ha)'. A background dancer arrived on stage and started shooting lipstick bullets, like in the music video. Next up was 'Boom Clap' the soundtrack single which peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The final song of the set was her new single 'Alone in the Dark', which was welcomed by screams from the crowd. She sang the song energetically as usual. The videos of the performances are now available on Charli XCX's youtube channel.

Zendaya covers Elle UK
It’s not too often that people find themselves wishing to be seventeen years old again. There was nothing exciting about being filled with teenage problems and frustration whilst waiting to become adults, and nothing makes those adults laugh louder than all those hideous outfits they wore while being teenagers. However, this probably won't happen to the new fashion darling Zendaya, who is probably the most fashionable teen on the scene at the moment. This singer and actress got more fashion sense in her pinky finger than most middle-aged adults have in their whole bodies and a wardrobes. And she just proves once again that this girl can rock any kind of style by covering Elle UK July issue. Everything about this singer seems so effortless when it comes to her fashion, from the way she sits pretty in a black and patterned shirt and simple Nike shoes to the way she posts up in those summery looking shorts and matching cute little ocean color shirt that is sexy but not too sexy. Zendaya never seems like she’s trying too hard - she just jumps in casual clothes and rocks them with confidence. And that’s probably why Elle UK chose Zendaya to cover their latest July issue.
Q: Your new album is coming out in couple of days, and it's called "Antidote". What really inspired this album?
Z: Well basically I was inspired by my whole life - last year, around October, I experienced a lot of crazy and fun things, and I just thought that I should share some stories with my fans. Also, besides all of those experiences that I've had, I wanted to record another, new album as well, because I really love singing and performing and it's my passion, and my ex-label didn't let me release another single from my debut album because the album really underperformed, so they just decided to keep me as their pet without letting me release new singles or albums. This whole sound of the album is really good and a little bit throwback-ish, because I've been listening to late 90s and early 00s music, for example, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and I wanted to mix that iconic sound with this new mainstream sound. And there you have it, my new album, and I'd describe it as urban rhythmic R&B.
Q: Which songs are your favorite on your own album?
Z: All of them are my favorites, honestly, they're like my babies and who picks their favorites when it comes to the babies? No one. But I've recently recorded this new track, "Cuts Like Diamonds", and I think it's such a good song and I love it. The backstory of this track is a bit weird and it all happened so quickly, honestly - I've discovered this new girl, Charli XCX, who was featured on "Fancy" and she also has her new single out at the moment, "Alone In The Dark", and basically one day I just opened up YouTube, I searched for more Charli's track and I discovered this track "Cuts Like Diamonds". It was only a demo that leaked, so it wasn't as perfect as possible, but something still caught my attention. Then I showed this track to DJ Mustard, and somehow he contacted with Charli and her label asking for a permission to rerecord this track for me, and they actually agreed! It was a shock for me how quickly it all happened, but then we rerecorded this track, DJ Mustard kept the melody but he completely changed its instrumental, which ended up sounding like a true urban R&B track. I'm inlove with it at the moment.
Q: Speaking of other artists, what songs you are really digging at the moment?
Z: I personally love Mariah's song "You Don't Know What To Do", I think it's a fun and really good song, and I've been jamming to it since it was released on iTunes. Also, I've been listening to Aaliyah lately, and my favorite song of her is "Rock The Boat", it has that amazing feeling and that good vibe. and it makes you listen to this song over and over again. "Vibes" by Azealia Banks is amazing as well, I was really impressed by her skills when I first head this song, it definitely deserved that number one spot last week. Um, I also like "Juicy Cakes" by Rihanna and Brandy, it's a good party song as well, and it is also a good workout song, whenever I hit the gym it's always on repeat, it just really motivates you to work.
Q: Best advice on love?
Z: Oh, love is actually a tricky thing and I'm not really good at giving advices on love or relationships, but I know one thing - girls, and boys, out there, just remember, find someone that you could love and you could love so much without getting distracted from yourself or your work or whatever. I have a lot of friends who always tells me those stories about love taking over their whole life. You should love someone, but don't forget to love yourself as well, don't forget to give yourself some attention. And don't fall inlove too quickly, because that might be a bad idea - get to know the person, find out about their interests, hobbies, what they like, what they dislike.
Q: It's summertime, and a lot of girls and women are going to the beach, but we all know that without make-up, they don't look as good as they could look, so they have to wear make-up as well. What would you recommend for girls who want to wear make-up to the beach?
Z: It just depends on them actually - if they have enough confidence to go to the beach without wearing make-up or hair extensions or whatever, then go for it! I, personally, don't wear make-up to the beach because I go there to have fun, to spend some free time, I don't go there to show off my make-up or whatever. But since there are some girls who are a bit shy to show up without make-up, then this is what I would recommend - put on some make-up, but try to look as natural and as simple as possible. Don't wear ten different shades of eye shadow - choose one instead. This is what I would wear if I would want to go to the beach wearing make-up - first, I would apply a good amount of sunscreen. You are going to spend some time in the beach, next to water, so sunscreen is the most important thing. And go all over your face - use it on the lips, nose, literally everywhere. Then, apply a bit of skin foundation just to cover up some imperfections like redness or whatever. Personally, I have to use just a bit of foundation, because I always have some red spots on my face. Then, put on a minimal amount of powder just to make your make-up look even more natural. Put on some mascara, but don't do too much - keep it all simple and natural. In fact, use mascara only on your upper eyelashes, because you are going to sweat, you are going to the beach, you will be having fun in the water, so use as less as possible. And of course, use waterproof mascara. And that's it! You will look nice and beautiful, and most important - natural!
