I think they're just comparing to Shake It Off because it's the most commercial example of its sound. Not because it's the most accurate point of reference.
I just see country country country references everywhere and it makes me think this is truly a COUNTRY album and I just wanna cry. I love the PI instrummental, I hope it's more of that on the album. Poprock ftw
The bollywood reference makes me very very excited tho
