The problem with Beyonce fans is that they are pressed that Britney came back. Beyonce studied many artist obviously but people act as if she didn't see how Britney was playing the game from 99-03 and using her swag. Beyonce plays the good girl in interviews and then in her shows is provocative. She plays the role model for girls but shows the skin for the men and does it with an oh so innocent smile on her face...Hmm I've seen that before. I mean they didn't bat an eyelash when she completely stole Britney's 2003 AMA look mixed it with an old Janet routine and passed it off as her own in her forgettable Ring the alarm...cause this sht is garbage performance.
Why does Britney's worse performance get more press than beyonce's best?
Why is it that when Britney and Beyonce perform at the same award show Britney still snatches headlines and Beyonce is either forgotten or people out her for her inspiration.
At least Britney knows how to take from the best and make it her own. Instead of just straight up swagger jacking. Britney took the strengths of Paula's non threathening cheerleader quality, Janet's dancing/performance skills with infectious smile and Madonna's knack for controversy and epic moments and a pop culture staple and modernized it into a 21st century southern girl with charm and charisma transforming into a woman with the highs, lows, good and bad.
Say what you want about Britney but no one was ever able to play both sides simultaneously (good girl/bad girl) and have the impact. You were either the Madonna raunch provocateur or you were the Janet/Paula good girl.
They claim Britney fans are living in the past and only based things on sales when you can't change receipts (unless you have a pepsi "fact sheet"). Britney's first album alone shipped 14M albums in the US...Beyonce will ship 14M albums in about 2 eras which means 6 albums to get where Britney did in her 1st album. Beyonce fans have no problem merging DC3 sales with hers.
They thought that when Britney took a break that she would be the one making headlines for her performances and looks/videos. Guess again.
the sad thing is that the two queen bees (one of pop and the other of r&B) actually like each other. Beyonce fans just hate the fact that Britney didn't stop at 2003/4 for Beyonce to take over and she still gets hits and adds to her already impressive accolades. They hate the fact that Britney can be at the top, bottom in a good place/bad place and still garner attention but if their fave messes up then its not viewed the same way. Beyonce has to play the perfect ice princess image. It's not our fault that Britney is so embedded into pop culture that people root for her and relate to her on another level that most pop stars wish for.
That said, this is old tea as Rihanna as now surpassed Beyonce as the urban pop/r&b girl of the 21st century. She doesn't have the range but she has the looks, edge, PERSONality, the ability to be versatile and relatable and likable in her successes and failures. Rihanna has a new mother posing like she's 19 years old again with her parts out just to compete...still Rihanna does it best.
People like Britney, Rihanna, Katy and others might not be the best vocally but the overcompensate for their weaknesses and own these boring basic girls.
Why do you think Britney is where she is at and Christina is where she is at? It takes more then a voice and some people with the exceptional voices rest on their talent instead of pushing through and strengthening other areas.
Short story, llllllloooonnnnng...Britney's the best selling female artist of the 21st century, she's an icon, legend, hitmaker, trendsetter, survivor and an overall great person.
Check Britney's credentials...all she does is WINNNNN
