Those and other producers like Dr Luke, Timbaland, etc. still make a big amount of money purely based on their songwriting. Most of time they're not only credited as one one of a thousand co-writers/co-producers who just add a little melody or something but are essential to the sheer existence of a song. That's why they still get their fair share of money. But others like that one Katy songwriter(?) who complained about only being paid some cents through spotify. I think it's rather directed at people like her.

My little cousin dragged Rebel Heart a bit today
I was playing it in the car, and as soon as Living for Love came on, she said "Ohhh! I HATE this song!" when she's literally never heard it before.
Then by the third chorus of Ghosttown she said "This song is annoying"
and during Devil Pray, she asked "Can we change the channel?"
She stans for Katy Perry, though, so...

This is also true, Yeah I'm not sure why producers and writers aren't speaking up, I'm guessing they don't like it either but we may not be hearing about it as much.

@B-Luke, it isn't fair to compare Dr.Luke and Timbaland, two of the most prolific producers I have ever seen, with that piece of garbage Bonnie McKiiiiiiiii, those two are always onto something, just look at Timbaland on Empire

So you are going to pay 20 dollars per month for a service and besides that pay for overpriced merchandise and tickets. And besides I can access to youtube, facebook and twitter without paying a damn cent (if we don't count the internet bill of course) Defend this all you want, at the end this is way to get people's money, from things they can get for free or paying less money. A SCAM.

No I didn't think of Bonnie McDonalds, it was that one songwriter on Choose Your Battles I think but I don't remember her name. If those people still don't manage to make more profit out of a song through that Tidal thing people will eventually turn their backs on the Moon Crater family.

I'm not here for this Rebel God scalping coming from Forbes.
Quote:
Even though it’s only been available (legally) for a handful of weeks, Madonna’s latest studio effort Rebel Heart seems to be missing both of those. After several decades and thirteen albums, it’s looking like Madonna may finally have a true flop on her hands.
Last week, fans and plenty in the industry were shocked to learn that Rebel Heart had debuted at number two, becoming Madonna’s first album in close to twenty years not to make it to number one.
Rebel Heart dropped from the runner up slot to number twenty one in just a single sales frame. That fall represents a massive decline in sales, from 116,000 copies to just 24,000 copies moved, and those numbers aren’t likely to rebound.
Album Title – First Week Sales / Second Week Sales (provided by Nielsen)
Rebel Heart – 116,000 / 24,000
MDNA – 359,000 (though 180,000 traditional sales) / 48,000
Hard Candy – 280,000 / 94,000
Rebel Heart is the first album of Madonna’s career not to have a top 40 hit. Holding onto her place on radio and the Hot 100 is something which she has struggled with in the past ten years or so. Her last three records have only released one hit single each, and so far neither of the two tracks released as singles (“Living For Love” and “Ghosttown”) from the new album have impacted radio almost anywhere in the US.
