Hello everyone

Isn't the whole point of this thread to discuss our feelings as we're writing and to talk about our challenges and successes?

It might seem annoying but its literally the only way for me to relieve myself of the anxiety that I get pent up when I'm writing. Writing is difficult for some of us, we feel like we're sharing pieces of ourselves to complete strangers over the internet. Its inevitable that we're going to be emotional.

Maybe we take it a bit too far at times but its hard to just pretend like we're good each week. Especially when you've had consistent weeks (like I have) where you've genuinely struggled to put together something that satisfies both the judges and myself personally and artistically.

Like, I get it gets annoying and I know we're meant to remember this is just a game and this is just for fun and there's a sense of community among us all (Ha!) but it just gets really crushing sometimes when you put your heart into something to have it dragged a bit, especially when you're bringing in someone to drag us for the kiis!!!1!

This is just somewhere to vent. So it's whatever.

Just to put in my two cents I hope everyone keeps in mind being in the thread all the time like "Ready to be eliminated!" and shit (not in a joking way) is rather tedious and personally it really annoys me. I'm not thinking of anyone in particular because most people (including myself as a contestant all the time!!!) do this and every season it really annoys the judges.

Let me clarify my comment, although I know lovesong and conatus are addressing pears, not me.

There's nothing wrong with feeling insecure or anxious. The point of my comment is that I was under the impression that conatus was basically quitting and, given how much he's slayed in the contest, I didn't like that. Nothing more, nothing less. Just to be clear.

I'm not saying people can't be like "I'm having trouble with my song" or "I'm not really feeling this round " because that's perfectly fine but if every time I see someone post, they're talking about how they're going to be eliminated or place last, I just wish they had more faith in themselves.

I'm not asking anyone to pretend they're perfect, or react as if everything's fine when they get judging they see as negative. I just don't want everyone to be saying in earnest how they're going to be eliminated every round. That's different than talking about the writing process or just saying they don't think this song's their best.

You have a point and I relate to it as for the past 3 (not really in round 5) rounds I've been really struggling as well and I feel like I'm gonna get eliminated but sometimes confidence is the key. I might've even annoyed Tymps a lil last round when I kinda dragged myself tho but I never mean to annoy anyone

Well, I'm the kind of person who struggles to admit they're good at something in real life, never mind something as personal as songwriting. So even if I have people telling me something of mine is good, I won't believe it at all for the longest time. I'll put on a front of either "I'm better than you" or "I'm the worst one here". There is no in-between. I fluctuate between the two extremes.

I just assumed that we had built up enough of a sense of community and camaraderie over the weeks to be able to post in here without judgement.

And to clarify, I'm not quitting. My comments of self-sabotage were not sincere. I'm just venting.
