Secondly, I think most of us realize "When We Were Young" isn't a flop. I can only speak for myself, but I personally wanted it to be a bigger hit than what it is because I want it to stand the test of time like "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You," "Set Fire to the Rain," and "Hello" have and will. I want it to be one of her signature songs that she still sings 20 years from now. It's just got that classic vibe to it, and taking that and the personal connection I have with the song into consideration, I just wish it would've done better. I'm not concerned about charts. But I wish this would be one of her "signature" songs just because it's worthy of being up there with the songs I previously mentioned. You know what I mean?

It's already a classic. 17m people own the song.

btw, what do you all think of this? it's prolly the best rock/metal version of an Adele song that i've heard so far. SFTTR really fits for these kind of version too imo!

Some of the most well known songs from 20+ years ago never charted in the top 10. Since when does a song have to go top 10 before being deemed a classic?

I'm just countering your claim that just because the album sold well doesn't mean the song is a classic on par with RITD, SLY, Hello. It may be remembered but Adele will always have bigger songs that people will remember her.

Also if you really want, give me some examples of songs that never charted the top 10 but are "classics" today.

In my opinion, don't you remember, Turning Tables, and One & Only are all classics that will be played on radio for decades to come. Charting positions mean nothing.
