That's why it climbed so slowly because radio was hesitant to play Games since it was unofficial. Radio wanted some Luke song to play following I See You. With the CMAs coming and going with no new single at the time, Games was added and spun a lot more since the stations most likely felt confident their wouldn't be a new Luke single (as I thought as well) heading into summer.
This is the best charting album cut song on country radio since Life Is A Highway in 2005?, but that had lot of promo from the movie it was for whereas Games just was released as a track with Spring Breakdown for his last SB EP (which was the only SB song to get a video this time around ).
Which is why they should have gone for a seventh release from Crash My Party and put a song as good as Games on a regular album where it could've been properly promoted. It deserved more than it got, but after the Play It Again fiasco at Hot AC last spring and summer, I've figured out Bryan's label is prone to making mistakes.
Technically it's been rolling since day one because the original was already getting spins. The massive update it got Monday won't reflect till Tuesday mornings update, it really should only have one negative day though. It's updates are getting larger
