It's safe to say people making Katy or Gaga-esque music are not lasting too long in this industy. Meghan Trainor and Ariana are doing well as Pop artists - I say that term loosely - and we see their sound is completely different from both Katy and Gaga. Katy will probably be done soon, just like Gagz...
They are 2 different lanes who've had 2 different fanbases. 'Katy ending Gaga' implies that had Applause been released 2-3 months earlier it wouldn't have performed the same, when it still would've not reached #1 + underperformed.
Katy just releasing next to Gaga with stronger #'s made it look like 'she ended her', but Roar was still gonna perform better than Applause and PRISM was still gonna perform better than ARTPOP whether they were released at the same time period or not.
Katy's power just rose vastly following one of the biggest eras in Pop history, and Gaga's declined vastly following one of the most controversial eras in Pop history. That's that. Gaga 'ended' herself, if anything.
It's not like 9 year old white girls decided 'let's not support Gaga anymore, since Katy is back!'.

You avi just reminded me of my best friend and I talking about how we would **** Julie. Surgery did her well.
Gaga's transitioning, though. She doesn't wear clown outfits, she's doing tributes, singing old-sounding songs, engaged and will probably be knocked up in a year or two. I believe she has a hit or two in her, but I don't believe she will have a Madonna-esque career, purely based on the fact she has other plans.
are all a thing of the past. That's why people need to start commending P!nk. Even after her down period with Try This (which won her her first solo Grammy)/ the beginning of I'm Not Dead, she managed to come back and build a steady following. I don't really care about 'impact.' P!nk will continue to be successful, even if it's not the biggest successes at that time.
She's just maturing. It'd be embarrassing if at 35 she was still wearing outfits that were Meat Dresses and singing generic Just Dance like songs, she has self-awareness + maturity (poor Katy).
Ofcourse the same Gaga at 22 years old singing Just Dance in a skimpy outfit, touching herself wouldn't be singing with Tony Bennett. This applies to almost any artist's choices at 22 versus 29.
People keep thinking because she's making more mature collaborations and decisions = she's done with Pop. Like y'all expect her to stay the same and not evolve?
Sooo excited for the new Mariah music coming within 1-2 months. Hopefully she redeems herself this small era. Serve some home-hitting ballads, some nice uptempos, stop trying to act young, and stop with the disastrous performances and you'll be claimable again.
Nothing Was the Same is one of the best Rap Albums this decade so far. (Behind only MDTF and Yeezus (f u ck ur opinion). Kendrick Lamar will just never be my cup of tea and I don't feel ashamed to say it. I love witty rap lyrics but I also love music that I can enjoy in the moment. He's brilliant but he and J Cole are kinda in the same boat. They don't have the knack of making catchy "serious" music. Kanye and Nas are like the G.O.A.T at making serious songs still sound commercial without losing its artistic attribute.
One Mic, I Know I Can, Jesus Walks, All Falls Down >>>>
