They can do so much with it now that the comics have added new layers to the story since the last time the film attempted it.

Oh my God yes. I want Phoenix in all her glory and beauty. We need both sides and a two part film would be so amazing.

They really should dig deep with the Phoenix tbh. X-3 did not do it justice. They made it where The Phoenix was this thing that made her hyper emotional and horny, which is not how the Queen sis is. There is a progression with The Phoenix that should be examined and understood.

They certainly can't destroy him, so they will need to beat him in a way where he can come back for a future film. Do you want them to kill him?

Exactly. Especially with a storyline that in no way meshed with the Phoenix plot. That movie was in shambles in terms of plot. And I'm still pissed about Rogue's characterization in those movies.
